Very lovely place! Me and my partner ordered the special afternoon tea for 2 for £32, we'd definitely say it's rather expensive for what quantity you get but definitely worth it because it was so tasty ! The staff were also kind :)

Wow, this was absolutely beautiful! My friend and I came for their afternoon tea, I didn’t have the highest expectations but this place was amazing. The scones are the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten a lot of scones! The cakes were lovely and fresh, staff so friendly too. The only suggestion I would have is to really clean the bathroom up - some fresh hand wash rather than watered down stuff, some sanitary bins, and extra toilet rolls. Then generally give it a good clean.

We came across Molly's whilst visiting York recently. We stopped off for bacon & sausage butties. They were delicious 😋 The girls were lovely, so friendly & the service absolutely fab! We loved it so much, we visited the following day for a cooked breakfast. £7.50! Absolute bargain. Many eateries are hugely overpriced in York but Molly's isn't one of them. Next time we are in York, we will definitely be popping in! Thanks girls, you made our visit a perfect one ❤️

Absolutely fabulous tea room. Took my partner as a surprise birthday treat. We had the vintage afternoon tea, finger sandwiches, selection of delicious cakes and the scones were freshly made. Beautifully presented on pretty china plates. The staff were so lovely, especially Holly 😊 Nothing was too much trouble. She was friendly, attentive and very helpful. Highly recommend this super quaint tea room 😊🫖☕️🍰

Don't waste your money..booked as a special birthday treat £32.00 for 2...no recollection of our booking asked what the fancies were 9n menu described by staff as cream, jam and chutney(this was red onion mixed in tomato sauce and barbecue sauce) all China was plain white not a vintage pattern in sight, had to change cutlery as they were dirty. Disappointment started to creep in. Our errr afternoon tea arrived wasn't an afternoon tea cheap bread slithering of fillings no cream cheese and salmon after been told it would be one of the choices...tuna and red onion the slabs of cake and dry scones arrived. Poured the tea ran out of spout all over the table. Said chutney arrived running down the side of dish looked and tasted awful then top tier of 2nd plate was a handful of salad. Did complain to staff eventually the chef came out and said "I hear you are not happy" standing with her hands on her hips. Explained the list of complaints...this should have been a pleasant experience, sadly the photos on their website did not replicate what we were served, the whole cafe did not appear to have nothing vintage to offer customers this was not an afternoon tea as advertised...don't bother wasting your time or money...terrible.

I visited with a group of friends on 2nd Dec, it was really busy as the Christmas Market and snooker were on!! But what a gem of place, the manager couldn't do enough to accommodate our large party of 10. Food and drinks were lovely with a warm and friendly atmosphere. All of our party would highly recommend...thank you

Arrived just before closing, but was still welcomed in and food served, despite just moving to coffee and cake only due to clearing and cleaning. Excellent find 🙂👍

Definitely go when in York. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The food is fantastic and very good-size portions. Lots of drinks to choose from, and you have to see the cakes to believe how yummy they are. Highly recommended

We visited a couple of days ago for an afternoon tea and it was such a great experience. Service was excellent, cakes, scones, sandwiches were delicious and very fresh, and our tea was in perfect temperature. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to unwind from the busy York streets!

A little quiet when we visited. Staff were getting ready to tidy up so we felt a little rushed.

Delicious. We had Smoked salmon in scrambled eggs on toast with a pot of tea. Couldn't fault it. Going there again.

After much trudging around York trying to find something other than an overpriced chain restaurant we stumbled across Molly's and happily went in - Had lovely paninis, jacket potato and homemade soup between us at a very reasonable price, highly recommended!

Molly's is a hidden treasure on the first floor, amidst a treasure trove of shops. My wife had chocolate fudge cake, and I had apple pie, both smothered with cream! And of course, we had to have Yorkshire tea! Really pleasant staff and nice atmosphere, including background music from our era!
