What a great place to wine and dine loved ones, very friendly staff, the food is great.
Had the sea bass fillets and they are the best i have had.
The food is great, the staff are friendly, polite and make you feel welcome.
Highly recommend this place if your ever visiting York and the prices are reasonable
A fab, vibrant restaurant with yummy food, delicious cocktails and amazing staff. The restaurant had families, couples an girlie groups and me, Mum & my Sis had a fantastic meal. Not too expensive so didn’t feel spanked when it was bill time. Try the espresso martini & seafood linguine, you won’t be left wanting. Not much veggie choice with a meat-heavy menu but the fish is delicious. Deffo worth a visit
My dining partner ordered lemon and thyme chicken supreme, which comes with a creamy sunblush tomato risotto. The flavour of the lemon and thyme came through lusciously and the meat was tender. It can be quite hard to get risotto perfect but this was pretty close! I tried a forkful myself and it wasn't too heavy or creamy it made an amazing accompaniment.
We had a fabulous anniversary meal, dining in the courtyard area of Lucia's. The food was served promptly and was absolutely gorgeous! Staff were attentive without being intrusive. We even received an anniversary card on our table when staff linked up a voucher present with our booking. Great atmosphere. Thank you Lucia!
A complete 5* lunchtime dining experience. Faultless from arrival to departure. Restaurant was busy on arrival but we'd booked in advance. Seated indoors in a nice space near to the windows. Beautiful interior. And the ladies toilet facilities are fabulous! They're upstairs, which wasn't an issue for my daughter and I. We ordered cocktails, which were delicious and very pretty. I opted for the 3 course menu with the fixed price. Bruschetta, gnocchi and a chocolate mousse were my choices. Daughter enjoyed a paté, ravioli and shared my dessert. Excellent value for money. Good portion sizes and excellent quality. Staff were attentive throughout. We will definitely be back to this lovely place on our next visit to York.
Food was excellent, staff were a pleasure and were delightful to speak to, the exterior and interior were gorgeous. we sat outside, under the canopies at around 7 so it was just dark and all the lights were glimmering beautifully, i had the potato croquets with truffle mayonnaise and it was divine, however not as divine as my main, i had the beef fillet and baked gnocchi and it was sensational, i’ve honestly never had anything like it, both dishes were extremely flavoursome and the food came within 15 minutes of our order having been taken. the food was affordable and worth every penny, another member of my party had the 8oz steak and said it was delicious and perfectly cooked. could not recommend this place more as everything was absolutely fantastic.
Firstly the staff are excellent here. The host got us a table for 8 people after a booking issue and the servers were attentive throughout.
The restaurant has a mix of indoor and outdoor seats and the outdoor has heaters and is covered so no need to worry about the weather. We sat inside and the atmosphere was great.
One of our party eats gluten free and there is a great menu of gluten free options and was one of the reasons we went here.
We went for sharer breads to start which were really nice and like pizzas.
For my main I went for the steak skewers which were cooked to my preference and the portion size was perfect. I washed it down with a bottle of Malbec which was 👌Noone on the table had any issues with the mains and the pizzas looked delicious. My dessert was a rum soaked sponge and I would highly recommend it.
I would highly recommend this place first for the great service and the food
Lucia, the charming Italian restaurant nestled in the heart of York, left us utterly delighted during our recent visit. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear that this establishment excelled in every aspect, from service to food, drinks, and desserts.
The service at Lucia was nothing short of amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to make our dining experience special.
As for the food, it was a true Italian culinary delight. I savored a mouthwatering pepperoni pizza, perfectly baked with a thin, crispy crust and a rich tomato sauce. My girlfriend opted for the arrabbiata, which she described as lovely, with just the right balance of spice to tantalize the taste buds.
To cap off our wonderful meal, we indulged in a decadent chocolate brownie for dessert. It was the perfect sweet ending to our dining experience.
Lucia's drink selection was impressive, offering a variety of options to complement our meals. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and romantic, making it the perfect place for a date night in York.
In summary, Lucia is a gem of an Italian restaurant that we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a delicious pizza, a delectable pasta dish, or a sweet treat, Lucia has it all. Combine that with the outstanding service and inviting atmosphere, and you have the recipe for a perfect evening in York.
We always go here for food when we're in York. Good quality food as well.
There were four in our party and everyone enjoyed it.
My only gripe is no anchovies in my chicken Caesar salad and not a lot of it really.
This little hidden gem is exactly that! Stunning decor & the outside seating area is lovely. Waitress even asked if we wanted our heated lamp on!! This restaurant is set back from the main streets and has a very intimate feel to it. The food is gorgeous! The drinks felt a little pricey but it did feel like a luxurious experience so I guess that’s why. The only reason for 4 stars on service is that there were plenty of waiters around and it wasn’t overwhelmingly busy, but we sat without drinks orders being taken for quite some time, and after each course were left with our dirty plates for a long while too. But generally a beautiful experience.
Had a meal with colleagues here on Wednesday and it was so enjoyable. We had the two course option for £18, you could choose any two from starters, mains and desserts menu. Some chose starter and main and a couple had mains and desserts. It was really tasty, I had bruschetta for starter, it was perfect, tomatoes infused with garlic, Basil and olive oil followed by chicken with hummus salad for the main. The staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble. We thought it was great value and will go again.
Visited with a friend. The service was great really attentive, maybe slightly over the top but we never without or needed anything. Food was great! We ordered some starters to share which worked really well. The rose and lychee cocktail was really nice! If I’m ever in York again I would like to revisit!
Food was good but what makes this place special is the service and atmosphere that comes with it. Thanks Tom (waiter) you are absolutely brilliant! Also awesome dessert menu. Highly recommended 👍
