This was our second visit and again we were really pleased, the food was excellent I am gluten free and I ordered the pepperoni pizza which was first class the best I have eaten anywhere normally they are quite dry and floury this wasn’t it was really flavoursome, good waitress service and good atmosphere, will be visiting again.
Came here for a Valentines meal and I couldn't fault anything from the second we entered to the moment we left. The food was delicious and full of flavour, the service was spot on and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.
Ate here with today with my friend and had an absolutely beautiful meal. Could not fault anything. Our waiter, Paul, was so lovely and accommodating. Will definitely visit the next time I’m in York and would highly recommend to anybody �����
Lovely meal� my friend was also a vegan was happy with the menu, but when asking for a coffee after the meal the waiter said they wasn't no vegan milk ei soya milk or coconut milk
Fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the staff were really great. To say the place was really busy the visit on a whole was great. Will definitely be visiting again.

Our mothers day meal was fantastic! We didnt feel rushed and our food was all freshly prepared. Our server Harry was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. A total star! We'll definitely be back. x

We came tonight and our main server was Kathryn. The building was gorgeous and great atmosphere.There was a valentines menu, but also the normal menu , which i loved as many places only offer a set menu when it's an occassion.
Kathryn was super helpful, and accomodating with my ingredient changes. Bubbly and professional.

Joined a long queue but were seated very quickly. We noticed that the manager was very hands on. Drinks served promptly. Had lobster and prawn pasta. Plenty of sea food on the plate. Food very hot. My chocolate Etna was amazing. The young lady looking after our table was very attentive. No complaints from any of us four guests from Derby, Derbyshire.
Visited here last night for our daughter's 13th birthday meal (booked a few months ago via email - prompt and friendly response). Absolutely lovely evening. The food was delicious, the Christmas atmosphere was lovely and the man that looked after our table was great too! Really looked after us all. Our daughter and her friends had a great time. A lovely surprise too that the chocolate cake was brought over and the staff and other diners sang 'Happy Birthday'! Cannot wait to return! A huge thank you to all involved in making our daughter's 13th birthday so special. I can highly recommend. Thank you!!

Food is really good but I give it only 4 stars because it doesn't have that Italian spirit in it. It tastes like interpretation of an Italian cuisine. Tasty but there's something missing to give it 5 stars.
There's definitely a WOW factor as soon as you walk in. This is the best Ask Italian interior I have seen so far.

I was in the mood for pasta, so I spontaneously went to the restaurant. The first thing you notice is the space, which is reminiscent of something elegant. I was served by Katie and an equally great colleague, a courteous, polite, friendly team who always fulfilled the wishes that were possible. I ate a lasagna with extras and several "Craft Still Lemonades" which were all beautifully prepared and I lingered for 3 hours and then relaxed and explored the city. Greetings from Worms, Germany
Another lovely lunch in the beautiful Assembly Rooms. Great hot food and wonderful service. The server chatted with us and really made us feel welcome. We enjoyed a free dessert too as a member of the 'Perks' club. This is my favourite Ask restaurant.

Beautiful resturant, service top notch, friendly staff, food was amazing, great atmosphere, amazing decor.
We were greeted at the door and shown to our table (we didn't book) given free shots of pink lemonade, which we all enjoyed.
Childrens menu was great for the price of £7.50, for a starter, main and dessert.
We would definitely recommend this venue.
Our recent visit to ASK Italian around 3 pm was met with a 30-minute wait in the queue before securing a table. However, the wait was worth it. We were greeted with a complimentary refreshing lemonade shot, a thoughtful gesture from the staff.
Our culinary adventure at ASK Italian was a delight! We savored the Sharer Cheese Garlic Bread, Aubergine Pizza, Spaghetti Lentil Ragu, and indulged in the decadent Chocolate Lasagne. Accompanying our meal were glasses of Red Wine: Malbec IGT and Merlot IGT.
The standout dish was the Spaghetti Lentil Ragu, boasting a creamy and tangy flavor profile that left a lasting impression. Each dish showcased quality ingredients and exquisite flavors.

The wow factor that you get from the Assembly Rooms setting makes a visit to ASK a little more special at this time of year. Food was good, servers were a bit busier than usual, but a pleasant and relaxed visit.
A chain restaurant is never going to be totally mind blowing food wise, but certainly does the job and caters for everyone (very vegan friendly!) with affordable and tasty food. The building itself however really is mind blowing for an Ask!
One of the best ASK Italian restaurants we've been to food was great the staff were friendly Emily was our waitress nothing was to much trouble for her the service was second to none amazing building inside would recommend a visit definitely be back when in York again
Fab meal for a big table of 17, Ask couldn't of been more helpful on the phone and over email for any quieres and on the night we had brilliant service. Thanks so much we will definitely return and recommend highly! :)
