Have never been here before, but we (the family and I) wanted to find somewhere to have a bit of something to eat, before we headed off home. We came across Lucky Days, as it wasn't too far from Castle car-park and it had gluten-free options, which was a bonus. The lady who served us was really pleasant and friendly. Although there was a bit of a wait for the food, it was worth it (I think the wait was due to the fact, it seemed a popular place with the people already seated and those wishing to be seated. The food was lovely and had no complaints about it at all. Will certainly remember this place for next time, and would recommend for a bite to eat in York.
Absolutely lovely! Had breakfast at Betty's this morning and croissant here is better. Lighter, baked to buttery perfection (Betty's was a little dry and over cooked). Orange scone was tasty and perfect with tea. Would absolutely come back and recommend it highly.
We popped in here for a quick snack and to evade a short, slight drizzle after we left York Minster. The staff were very friendly. The home made scone was delicious. It's quite small but very quaint and fits with the character of York perfectly. We arrived just before 12.00 and it filled up pretty quickly after we arrived, but I can't say if this was because it was lunchtime or because of the little drizzle or a mixture of both.
We had a lovely breakfast on Friday morning my shakshouka was to die for! The service is excellent, fabulous location and the cafe is dog friendly! 🐾😊
Incredible food, service was a little slow but they were very busy. Would recommend hot croissant and toasted fruit bread with butter
Stopped for a bit of lunch and to avoid the rain. Lovely food, the deli item and 3 salads deal was great value. Friendly staff and good service.
Didn't think we would get a seat as so busy, ended up in the loft room were we had to the room to ourselves. Food was excellent and service good. Good selection of different salads to go with the various open sandwiches, etc.
Lovely cafe and great food. The poached eggs were cooked very well. What made the difference here was the young girl serving upstairs. She made our experience enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. She interacted with our little boy too. Staff like this make a business stand out from the crowd
I love this place— really good food. But, it REALLY annoys me that you can’t have a scone without clotted cream and jam already on it. I don’t eat cream, so just wanted butter, but they don’t keep any aside for people who don’t want all that stuff on. We’re grown ups. We’re capable of cutting our own scone and spreading things on it!
This was a nice cafe. The hot chocolate and the chocolate fudge cake was very delicious. They also make their own fresh, flavoured scones which are nice. It’s a little small inside, and the toilets are up several flights of stairs. However, the place was clean and well kept. The staff are friendly too. I’d recommend this place, especially after lunchtime when it’s less busy.
