My husband and I loved our 3 night stay here.
The room was very clean and spacious and had a fab view of the cathedral.
All staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
The food was just amazing. Breakfast had a great selection of food to help yourself and can also order hot food such as a full English or bacon and egg sandwich plus lots more to choose from.
Light bits menu up till 5pm then can choose off the bigger menu.
Great relaxing atmosphere with lovely comfy seats after eating which was a nice place to chill.
This hotel is in a fantastic location as we walked literally out the door to the cathedral and then to the amazing shops and museums.
So much so see and do and after a day of walking 18,000steps we looked forward to chilling with a cold shandy before having something to eat.
Even though it was right in the centre it was quiet when in your room and didn’t hear anything outside.
Enjoyed my stay for work here - great location, convenient for being right in the heart of York and can’t get closer to the Minster! Room was huge, so much bigger than expected, and felt care had been taken for the decor choice and quality of furnishings. Bathroom was lovely and modern too. Breakfast included on bookings is only continental offerings, just to note that hot options are additional fee and placed on order. Staff I spoke to were very friendly and courteous. Would stay again!
Amazing location for a stay in York. Staff are a credit to the hotel and very helpful. Rooms are spotless. We were on the top floor so the room was initially quite hot but it had a Dyson fan which was perfect. Very comfortable bed. Can’t fault the place. Valet parking available, we checked in early and picked the car up late the next day. £25 per day. Breakfast was tasty and made fresh
Very centrally located hotel with a very attractive atmosphere. Directly opposite the minster and the pedestrian zone, old town. Large rooms with typical English interior, staff very helpful and polite, breakfast very British and plentiful. Restaurant also satisfactory. We recommend
You can't beat the location. Our room had an unobstructed view into the front door of the York Minster from less than 100 yards. You can stay here and never need to drive for a great stay in the heart of York. Super comfortable, good rooms and veyr friendly staff.
A fabulous short stay overnight. Last minute decision due to transport issues.
Great welcome, beautiful hotel, lovely staff who moved me to a different room as I wanted a window. Very accommodating and a really great breakfast!
Lovely hotel right next to York minster, it was great to hear the bells from the hotel room. The staff were all very friendly. The room was very clean and well presented. You don’t have to worry about parking if you opt for the valet parking, they will be straight out to park your car even if you are early and they will hold it until around 2pm on check out day. They even held our bags so we could walk around York before check in.
Absolutely stunning location. The staff are so lovely, friendly & helpful too.
We were staying in room 36, which is apparently haunted (which we didn't realise), but thankfully, we had a really peaceful sleep.

Couldn’t be better location. Full English breakfast can be made fully gluten free - ideal for celiac travelers. Great service and kind staff. Clean and updated bathrooms. All around great experience.
Really awesome location, right opposite York Minster. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Brilliant breakfast included in room with breakfast option, plenty of choice of full English, bacon and/or sausage sarnies, eggs benedict, eggs on toast etc etc. Car valet parking (£25 per night) and £15 for a dog per evening, which is very reasonable. We paid a bit extra to have a room with a view (Feature Double) and it was a fantastically large bedroom and ensuite with a direct view looking at the Minster. We were impressed that we were able to select a good room (as we were travelling with our dog). Tea and coffee provided in the room, along with a bar fridge. The only problem we had was using the WiFi but it did say to contact the front desk for help if there was a problem. The staff could not have been more helpful, really lovely experience and we would definitely return.
Stayed here about 5 times now some slight changes since they were taken over by inn collection, not best western as they were but didn't put us off , staff even remembered us after a 2 year break, rooms very clean maid service everyday , and of course central to everything don't worry about the minster bells they stop at 8pm at night and start again I think 8am , breakfast is plentiful as my husband loved it . Overall a lovely place to stay.
A lovely hotel in probably the finest location in York. Attentive professional staff. The only criticism would be the breakfast, warm your plates and buy better black pudding or don't leave it under the lamp to go hard. Otherwise a perfect stay. Would definitely stay again.
Realy nice hotel, fantastic location! Breakfast was included in the price and was great choice available loved the eggs benedict 🤌staff were very attentive and polite. The hotel offers valet parking 25.00 per night this was quite cheap in comparrison to some of the secure car parks in york city.
Great location in the heart of the city. The double room is absolutely fine for a weekend away. The restaurant has a good selection and the bar staff are extremely friendly
Lovely hotel, great location and staff were great. I was worried about the valet parking prior to going, I know the roads there are very busy on a Saturday afternoon, I shouldn't have been worried, double parked with hazards on and they gave me a slip for the windscreen and within a couple of minutes the car had been taken to the car park. The hotel is in the centre of York and our room was looking onto the main road, but there was no noise due to secondary glazing.
Overnight stay here was perfect. Lovely staff. Great room. Delicious food. Would highly recommend.
I would stay here again and again. The staff is incredible. A special thanks to Alison and Gery for making us feel like royalty. No better place in York!
