Always pop in a Spoons, decent quick bite to eat before hitting the awesome pubs & bars in York.
Only an hour away on the train from Hull. Always a great place to visit!
Curry Thursdays is the time to go! Really great curry at an affordable price. The Guinness went down very well too
Very popular. Cheap drinks and food. Over the railway bridge at the front. Turn right 5-10 mins. Outside seating also.
Came here for dinner before I had to catch the train back to London. Chose this pub solely because of its close location to the train station. Service was very fast and the food was delicious. Very much enjoyed my time here, not just in the pub, but also in York.
Visiting York for a one-day trip and decided to try the Wetherspoon. It’s my first time visiting one. I asked the person at the counter how it works ordered everything on the app to my table. I love the service friendly and helpful.I will come back again. (Edit: as the other reviewers said it’s a bit crowdy and noisy love the place though.)
Tasty black pudding on my vegetarian breakfast. This place was "to die for." The chairs were comfy and the table was well varnished. The only thing that disheartened me slightly, was seeing all those depressing weather spoons drinkers downing glasses of wine and lager before 12 noon. Who am I to judge anyway?
Very nice vibe, the standard wetherspoons food. Took a very long time to get our drinks and food but it's not the workers fault, just something to be aware of. Probably the worst toilets I've seen in a Spoons.
Went in for breakfast this morning, ordered through the app and promptly got given my mug for refillable coffee and informed that there would be a 15 minute wait on food as the kitchen were having an 'unexpected refit', not a problem. An hour passed and still no sign of my food, had places to be so I asked for a refund. Sophie dealt with it promptly and professionally, explaining how I would receive the refund and what to do if I didn't receive it, she also explained that apparently none of the staff knew about the refit and apologised.
These things can't be helped I get it, 10/10 for service, maybe just have a sign up or something next time.
This was a fabulous restaurant to eat and drink at, having designs that invoked the historical culture of York! The chandeliers on the ceiling make for beautiful lighting too and Easter decorations have been put up, channelling the seasonal spirit. Me and my friend sat a very clean table, where we were served our food and drink promptly. The pulled chicken wrap was delicious as were the peas, having a great level of warmth! The lady who took my order was really nice, asking if I wanted ice with my J20, which was a gorgeous drink.
Friendly and quick service. Cheap and cheerful spoons food. Toilet cubicles are a little on the smaller side, otherwise perfect.
