Great ambiance, great service, great food & great location. Friendly staff with generous portions. Dropped in at 9ish on a Sunday with the family - the happy "hour" was a real bonus.
Still good. We used to frequent here quite a bit when we lived in York, both the ‘old venue’ and also the newer one where it still is today.
Hoping it still was good I went for lunch with family while shopping and wandering around the city.
Despite being school summer holidays and generally busy all around York, we were lucky enough to get a table without waiting. Still the same old menu as I remember, which isn’t a bad thing! We all had burgers, the portions are still as big as they were last time we visited, still as tasty as I remember too. Service was good, all left very full!
Great little restaurant. You can find student types here and the food is great. Informal atmosphere, but can get very busy
Went here on a Saturday at around 13.00. Wasn't overly busy. Got served by Frankie who was lovely... Food and service 10/10. I'll let the photos do the talking.... Total bill for three people, including 3 x mains, 3 x drinks 3 x desserts was £65.00. I thoroughly recommend the vegetarian chilli.

Such a lovely restaurant in York and the food is always amazing no matter what we order...it was only quiet on Tuesday when we went and the service was a bit slow especially when we asked for the bill but food makes up for it! I live in York but will always bring visiting friends here and always recommend here :) they also do blue light discount even on a weekend :)
The food was fantastic, don't be fooled thinking that a cajun chicken salad is a light bite.
Quality was excellent, staff were very friendly when serving but somewhat inattentive, nobody checked that the food was fine, I asked for a drink when my food came, then asked at the bar 10ish minutes later. It came after I had finished my meal after I had concluded that it was not coming.
Small observations but in a nice pub style bistro on an early afternoon with only a few covers in, worth mentioning.
We will, however, be back.
Was recommended this place for drinks. Had one of the best caipirinha's ever! Loved the interior. Wouldn't say it was somewhere just to drink, more to eat and drink. Food looked good, though. Would go back just for the caipirinha!
We came here last night the place and food was beautiful. The young man who served us was lovely. Will be coming back next time we're in york. Would highly recommend.
Always come here for food when in York. Good atmosphere. Love the decor. Best ribs I've ever tasted!

Excellent food! I had the dirty chicken burger and it was incredibly delicious. Staff were super friendly and the decorations are lovely
