Had a great pizza, an amazing roast potato side dish, and drinks here on Friday evening. Some veggie and vegan options on the menu too.
You can't reserve tables in advance, but there were plenty free when we arrived at 18.45ish. However, it was starting to fill up by the time we left at 20.15ish.
According to my friends from Italy, the
Carbonara at Spaghetti Junction (located within Angel on the Green) is just as good as the Carbonara in Rome.
I have eaten Carbonara in Rome and the Carbonara I had at Spaghetti Junction is the real deal. All pasta is made by hand and the chef hails from Rome
Great bagels and coffee in the morning at the weekends. Not that busy at the moment with other options nearby, but that won't last long due to the quality.
Pizza and pasta in the evening is fantastic and reasonably priced.
I'm a massive fan of Veltins which is served here so can't complain. Good
Amazing bagels here! £10 for a bagel and a coffee, well worth it. The smoked salmon bagel was fantastic and the vegan option was just as good too. Great value for the size of the bagels. Would recommend!

Great coffee and the morning bagels are a nice little touch. Warm atmosphere all the time, especially cosy in autumn/winter.

Lovely, proper food and the great staff: my awkward, autistic, vegan son couldn't find anything he wanted, the staff were so accommodating and understanding, helpful and easy going, and sent us on our way with some extra bagels. Smiles all round! Thank you!

Nice ambience, spacious with some good craft beer and cider. Very knowledgeable bar staff who were able to give detailed information when we asked about the two IPAs that we're on offer - it's always so good to find someone that really knows about the products they're selling - we also got to sample

The carbonara was just like those of Rome and the head chef allesandro kindly came over and gave us a great insight on the history of the food he loves! Twas very good and very traditional! One of a triumvirate of good pubs just outside the walls. A little more pretentious than the Slip and the Swan, but a good choice of beers.

Amazing breakfast. Four fillings to choose from and the Italian one was so tasty. Definitely recommend. £10 including coffee.

Lovely food in a modern setting. Great service from very welcoming staff. Decent selection of drinks on offer. Good for kids, we had an early pizza meal, that we all enjoyed - notably the twisted crust on the pizza!
Had an absolutely brilliant night here on a recent trip to York. The food was great (I had a last minute change of heart and got the fish and chips - my friends and I agreed that I'd won on the best meal choice). The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. They helped us move to a table closer
