The Three Legged Mare - York - Photo album

Great cask selection and a brilliant choice of ciders. Very friendly place and the landlord was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Had some live acoustic music (at a very mellow level) on the bank Holiday Monday we were there. Overall a great place to visit when in York.
This is such a great place from Back Sheep Pubs. Very cosy and relaxed. Great beer and great decoration. Wish I lived here to come here often.
What a cracking Friday night session. Five fiddle players, three guitars, accordion, tin whistle, washboard player and fabulous singers. Like Fisherman’s Friends on the lash. Weekly event apparently! Worth the train fare from London.
Situated close to York's glorious Minster, I found it a very pleasant bar to shelter from the rain on a quiet lunchtime. Though it is not intended as a meal provider I always find it disappointing when a pub only serves crisps etc. & a few people came in and immediately left due to no proper food. S
My husband and I were visiting York on Bank Holiday weekend. We were drawn to this pub by the sound of live folk music. We stayed for hours watching and listening. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the bar staff were brilliant. We had a memorable evening.
Beer very good staff pleasant and friendly sadly no food. Could do with old fashioned pub food on a lunch time like pie and peas ploughman's baked potato, sandwiches etc on a lunchtime. 2 couples came in while we were there "do you do food?" Sorry no and they didn't stop. It's not rocket science.
Nice place for a drink as it's not too noisy. Good gin selection, I'd recommend the Black Sheep gin, superb.
Came in for a few quiet drinks and it was great, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of cask beer to choose from.
Was quiet when we called in but double gin so all was well. Lovely quirky atmosphere and friendly bar person.
Stopped here an imbibed in a couple of pints and a large gin for the good lady wife. Barman was really friendly with good knowledge of all the available drinks and spirits etc. Deceptively roomy inside with a nice pub atmosphere. Ale I had (Guzzler) was spot on and not overbearing. What I would call
