My mum comes in everytime she visits York, this weekend Was my first visit and definitely won't be my last! Fruit wine is to die for and I really enjoyed the reasonably priced pub food :D Thanks staff! P.s thumbs up for the live music too!

Spend the weekend in york nd this was the best pub we went into 5* staff and the landlord was so friendly and welcoming will definitely be going back next time we are down would recommend to anyone

This place exceeded all my expectations. The food was amazing and servings were very generous. I especially loved the cabbage and carrots that came with the pork roast. The atmosphere is generally quiet, but with a pleasant buzz. I would happily visit again, either for a pint or a meal. Just a good honest pub.

Got hungry and it's a nice surprised to have found this place. Love the library part at the back of the restaurant. It was very private and homely. The beef lasagna was really nice and juicy. Nice selection of beers.

Another wonderful pub in York. The wife and I were visiting from Tucson, Az. We stopped in for a quick pint and to rest the feet from a day of sight seeing. Ended up sitting next to a wonderful elderly couple who shared some drinks and great conversation with a couple of Yanks who love York and to find out that we have accents.

Really nice traditional pub with music on certain nights. Just watched the 2 Bob's what an act. Well worth a visit.

Enjoyed the homely atmosphere and very friendly barman that made us feel very welcome. Lamb shank roast was lovely and burger with crispy bacon came with hand cut chips! Overall a great experience, reasonable price, and offered a good respite from the wet weather outside.
