Great place to visit.See the brewery, with a choice of ale's brewed on site. Upstairs has a large beer hall and a choice of oriental food available. Large outdoor seating area At the front downstairs, and a great little scenic seating area At the back overlooking the river. Great place to visit with family or Not.

Amazing tasty food and beer! Love the 1950s(?) warehouse building which in another city would have been demolished for flats long ago. Great atmosphere despite its size and bare walls.

Visited as a big fan of their beer and I really enjoyed it! Lots of cans and merch to buy downstairs and a huuuuge selection of beers upstairs. As a stout fan I was glad to see a large selection on tap and wish I could have tried more! The food is so easy to order with the QR code at the tables and arrived really quickly. I would say the food is average, it was more salty than flavourful but we still enjoyed it and it went great with the beers.

"Move over, regular life – Brew in York is here to introduce your taste buds to a craft beer carnival! This place isn't just a pub; it's a playground for anyone who believes that hops and dreams are the key to a good time.
Walking into Brew in York is like stumbling upon a treasure chest of liquid gold. They've got more craft beer options than there are stars in the night sky – and believe me, tasting their creations is a journey to the galaxy of flavor. It's like they hired a beer whisperer to handpick each brew, ensuring that every sip is a cosmic experience.
The staff here are the beer version of sommeliers, armed with knowledge that would make textbooks jealous. They're like the Gandalfs of the beer world, guiding you through a menu that reads like a magical incantation of hops and barley. They'll help you find your beer soulmate faster than a love guru armed with a pint glass.
And let's talk ambiance. Brew in York has nailed the art of creating an atmosphere that's cozy enough to make you want to stay forever, but lively enough to keep your senses tingling. It's the kind of place where you can swap stories with friends, discuss the meaning of life, and probably solve world mysteries – all while nursing a pint of their liquid wizardry.
So, if you're ready to embark on a beer adventure that'll make you rethink your beverage choices, Brew in York is your enchanted destination. It's not just a pub; it's a portal to hoppy happiness, where every sip is a step closer to unlocking the secrets of the universe – or at least the mysteries of a darn good brew."

Amazing place to try wonderful beer. 40 lines of Brew York and collabs they have done. A very welcoming atmosphere with a real buzz about the place. People enjoying wonderful beer. They have some 2.7% stouts ranging to a 15% all for you to try. The food also was beautiful and a huge selection for everyone's dietary needs.

An excellent taproom. Plenty of space, vast selection of beers in keg and cask in just about any style you could ask for. Friendly staff, plenty of fridges for your takeaway beers but the real gem here is that there’s food! Manchester has some great taprooms but none serve food. Just awesome. Would recommend and I will be returning in the future.

Popped in here with son in law whilst girls went shopping. Great place, loved sitting amongst the stainless Steel brewing vessels, plenty of beers to chose from and loved the time travelling taxi. It was a dismal rainy day outside but inside was warm with the infrared gas heaters.. a truly urban raw feel... loved it. The brewery tour is a superb value for money as I read but not on today so shall book next time...

This place does absolutely stunning beers! Finally a brewing company who understands about mixing beers. I'm in beer heaven here and you can purchase same to take away too 🙌 🍻 🍺

Cheers, very nice place for drinking supurb craft. Crew was stellar but the ‘manager’ could take a be-happy course and make a proper welcome to visitors/guests. So 4 stars instead of 5

Absolutely loved it here, but wish I could have stayed longer and wasn't driving. Tried three new beers, Moo Tang Clan, Bruce Campbell v The Army of Dankness and The Fairytale of Brew York 2022. All were amazing and actually complimented each other really well together, only had a few mouthfuls of each though.
Didn't get the chance to try the street food as we had just eaten but it looked like something I will definitely try next time. Oriental/Japanese Street food sounded and smelled great.
On the way out I went via the little shop and bought some cans but unfortunately the t-shirt I wanted was sold out in my size.
First time here and really enjoyed my quick visit, next time I will be staying much longer and definitely trying more beers.

Great atmosphere and over 40 brews on tap behind the main bar/restaurant upstairs. Great menu of Japanese/Korean dishes and fries of excellent crispness.
Will definitely return for another great meal and exciting brew

All the time I've lived in York I've never been in Brew York's beer garden. It's great, a real sun trap.
This place is huge! Inside and out.
Inside there's a mixture of seating, booths or long benches.
Outside there's bench tables in the sun, some seating under cover. Basically, something for everyone.
The selection of beer is out of this world. They do a variety to suit all dietary requirements, including gluten free options.
They also have great wine and spirits.
I've been here before and it's quite a good place for a work "team" area with it being so big and having different places to sit as a group.
But would certainly recommend checking in advance.

What a brilliant Brewery.
There is a huge selection of different ales, cocktails wines, ciders and more.
I've been to plenty of breweries before and this one is at the top of the list.
There is plenty of seating and the atmosphere was great.
You can get food here too we didn't have any but it looked popular going on the amount coming out the kitchen.
The barman was helpful and polite i had a paddle so he recommended some ales to try.
I definitely advise paying a visit to any one who likes a drink with a bit of atmosphere.
Kirsty

Fabulous afternoon at the 2nd birthday bash. Sampled loads of cracking beers from the visiting breweries, including MadHatter, Fierce, Electric Bear, Magic Rock and People Like Us. Even had room for one of BrewYork's finest, Hey Mango, Ice Cream IPA and a small swig of Sweet Gin Music, a botanical infused pale ale.
Finished my session with half of Very Big Moose, an Imperial Chocolate Stout from Aberdeen's Fierce...12% of sheer enjoyment.
Several food offers available. I enjoyed Katsu chicken balls with rice from the Ballbox, lush.
BrewYork are currently crowdfunding to develop the street food offer. Get on it, if you drink there regularly it's a no brainer.

Amazing place in such a great location. The beers they make and serve are incredibly good. Some of my favourites are "big eagle ",Viking dna ","tonkoko milk stout ",and the imperial version to name but a few.
You must visit if you like real ale/craft beer. Highly recommended.

Superb place to visit. Always head straight there when in York.

Stumbled across this micro brewer with nice bar and beer garden (as weather permits) giving views up the foss and some of York’s industrial heritage. Just off Fossgate in a yard (not obvious) it has a great range of ales, trad. and craft. Friendly and unassuming, well worth a visit and near to the city walls, making it an ideal break as you stroll round.
Mark Dineley
Had a great Sunday afternoon in Brew York. X Panda, Tonkoko and the sour beers all excellent. Made to feel really welcome and even the dog got his own water bowl and treats. We will definitely be back

A fantastic venue with a stunning range of beers - they particularly excel at stouts and porters which are amongst the very best beers I have ever tasted
