I recently bought a burger from here and it was amazing. A double burger, thick ones, pink inside and super juicy. It'd been several years since I was there but the food is still terrific. How terrific? I'm going there tomorrow.... Just had the 3 bean chilli burger and it was superb. Again the double burgers were beautifully cooked, light pink and very juicy (the 3 bean chilli added to the flavour) Very impressive again and I'm very happy!

They had the football on, but the atmosphere was lively, rather than raucous.
Quick and friendly service at the bar. The food arrived pretty quickly, was absolutely beautiful, in generous portions, and very reasonably priced.
Highly recommended. We'll certainly be going back for a main meal the next time we're in York.

Refreshing cool pint on a hot day in York, right beside the hop on hop off your bus stop at the Shambles, excellent range of ales and good food.

Just an average pub, difficult to get a table at the moment as everyone seems to be going out after lockdown. Fishfinger sandwich and the onion rings were amazing, rest of the food was ok but nothing special. Service was quick and friendly. We'd definitely go back.
We stumbled ínto this bar at lunchtime by accident after pounding the streets with a fussy eater. First of all the staff are amazing - nothing is too much trouble. The food was near perfect. My friend had roast beef dinner and it was amazing - plenty of beef. I ordered lasagne an with a side of chips. The lasagne was good but a tiny bit tough/overdone at the bottom but the chips compensated. They were simply amazing. An American tourist leaving as we arrived told the staff it was the best meal she'd had over here and I could see why she thought that. I'll come here again.
Decent pub with very good food portions. The Yorkshire Pudding wrap tasted great.
From the moment you walk in your meet at the door with a friendly face and advised of the setup inside and take to your table, all very well done and welcoming
Got table service in the bear garden, Food was fantasic, got to big breakfasts really well cooked and presented price was brilliant.
Would recommend this place to anyone looking for food in York and once the rules are lifted the service given will be even better will defo go back next we are in York.
