Ate on the 31st May for my birthday, 4th time we have eaten there recently and it won’t be the last, wonderful food, kind staff and relaxing surroundings plus a free bowl of tasty chicken wings, thanks
8 of us strolled in to this pub after a lovely walk on Saturday afternoon not knowing anything about food times etc, they didn’t have a chef until 5pm and we were gutted! They then said they could offer us some starters and chips which turned out to be absolutely amazing, Camembert, soup, garlic mushrooms and big bowls of cheesy chips. Really grateful and really lovely food and people. Would definitely recommend!

We went there during our 2-night stay in Sutton upon Derwent and took advantage of their steak night which they have on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It did not disappoint! Everything from the starters down to the dessert was absolutely delicious and my husband and I both enjoyed everything immensely. We had the scallops and garlic mushrooms for starters, the fillet and sirloin steaks for mains and shared the brownie for dessert, which was a good decision as it was a big portion and would have been to much if we had a dessert each. The bar area is dog friendly so we were able to bring our little Archie. Make sure to book a table as it did get quite busy just as we were leaving at just after 7pm (table was booked for 6pm - so service was quick too!) We didn't go for the wine and they were happy to give us an alternative for our first round of drinks. The staff were also very attentive and friendly despite being quite busy. 100% would recommend this place and would love to go back if we ever come back around this area again ❤️
Didn't get to take photos of the starters as we were so excited to eat them when they arrived. And took a photo of the brownie halfway through eating it. 😅
We were staying at florida keys holiday park. And there was a menu in the lodge so we booked a table for Sunday lunch, we got there early and got served straight away we sat in the garden, Food was quick we got leg of lamb roast and it was absolutely delicious 😋 best Sunday lunch iv had, bursting with flavour! Myself and my other half picked this pub after one we were planning on eating at was shut.
It turned out that it was one of their two steak nights. Two steaks and a bottle of wine for £40. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the portion sizes were bang on and the food came out very quickly.
The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Since neither of us drink alcohol, we asked if it was possible to get the drinks for free instead of the bottle of wine. We had 2 rounds of juice and to our surprise the second round was free too! The dessert was delicious and we left feeling we had a good quality meal at a bargain price.
Would 100% recommend.
Nice little pub with great food. The steak night is to be highly recommend.
The portions are decent but not so large that you don’t have room for dessert.
Because the pub is closed Monday and Tuesday getting booked can sometimes prove a little tricky so look to book a week in advance.
Reasonable prices for such quality food.

Came here as we was at a nearby lodge, walked here for a few drinks the Saturday and came back for Sunday lunch the day after. Reserved the table and we was greeted and shown to our table. Fabulous food, quick service! Had the football on, racing and rugby as the pub catered for everyone. Lovely little village pub!
Lovely place, perfectly cooked steak, even on a very popular steak night, which if places are busy this can be hard to do. We have booked to go again. Great chips. Great service.
