First, a perfectly cooked tomahawk steak for two. Then we had the roasted garlic and chive mashed potatoes which were surprisingly amazing with the creamed cabbage and crispy smoked pancetta. With a week picked tempranillo reservations in the glass it was as good as it gets.
On my way back from the toilet I looked to look at the fire in the open kitchen when I was invited to come closer to look. I then had a nice conversation with the chef about how they cook the meat. They didn't have to do it, but they were very open and friendly.
Take service was good as well. Overall we couldn't have asked for more and it was so much better than some other, more recent experiences.
Brillant service, both waiters had a good sense of humour and character. Food came quickly, great pricing for quality produce. The nicest restaurant we came across in a long weekend stay at Aberdeen. Highly recommend!

Ate here for the first time with a large group of colleagues and have to say that I was equally impressed with the food and the waiting staff.
Let's start with the food. I had a ribeye steak and it was coked exactly to my liking. Perfectly seasoned and although I had a side of peppercorn sauce, the meat easily stood on its own. We had a variety of sides that complimented the meat but there was no doubt that the steak was the star of the show. I had scallops to start and again these were perfectly cooked.
Just a quick word about the staff. This was a large table (two tables really) and they were super efficient and clearly knew what they were doing. They were friendly and attentive without being overbearing (my restaurant pet peeve) and worked hard throughout the evening. The restaurant was busy in general but you never felt that the staff were rushed.
Although there were some vegetarian options, it is probably best avoided if you don't eat meat. If you are carnivorous then this place should sate.
Service was exceptional. Food was good, but I had higher expectations. Steak was very thin, but cooked appropriately. Scallops and (huge) Lobster tail were cooked perfectly.

My Steak took 30-40 Mins but it was a porterhouse and i was told when ordering it.
when it came it was cooked too perfection.
People who say this place is over priced obviously never been to a proper Steak place and should stick to lower end places like M&C.

Very nice, well-finished and elegant place. Staff is extremely polite and definitely cares about its costumers. The table is dressed with Vovem signed plates which is lovely and the dinnerware is stylish. The food is good, we tried the carpaccio which was amazing. The burger was tasty, although we were expecting more from the ribeye steak. Prices are higher than the average but that’s reasonable for the high quality service offered.

I booked a table at Vovem for my boyfriends birthday and it did not disappoint. After reviewing the menu we decided it was best to skip the starters and focus on picking out some delicious steaks and sides to accompany. We ordered the Bannerman Butcher (local to the north-east) fillet which was one of the best steaks we’ve ever tried. It was incredibly succulent and juicy - definitely in my top places for steak in Aberdeen. We ordered four sides between us and also had a pot of peppercorn sauce to share. I tried out the garlic butter while my other half had the bone marrow butter. The truffle mash is an absolute must try in my opinion and definitely get those truffle fries too if you love truffle. We were absolutely stuffed and couldn’t stomach dessert. Having ordered a variety of sides it was a little pricey, but I had no problem paying what we did for the food as it was phenomenal. A perfect place for a special occasion and the chefs even sent us out a lovely wee sorbet to finish our meal off too. Oh, and to kick off the meal we got complimentary bread with the most insane truffle butter. One word, yum!
Great place - we popped in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. From the street the place looked really quiet but the restaurant is up the back and was very busy considering we ate at 4pm.
Steak was great although the smallest sharing porterhouse steak was 1.1kg which was a bit much for us but tasted fantastic. Really nice drinks offering too and staff were lovely.
At one point the main manager seemed to be giving the staff a bit of a hard time right behind us which wasn’t nice to hear. The staff were great so felt bad for them and it’s rather unprofessional.
Taken here for fathers day lunch, was not sure what to order. Saw the roast beef and we opted for that and a pudding.
Service was great (3 different servers) food was wonderful, also got the pork belly as a side (was fantastic). Sticky toffee pudding (Mmmmm) and a couple of beers to wash it down.
Just a very nice place, looks quiet when you go in as the bar is at the front but out the back in the eating area was very busy.
Will be back some evening to try a steak…

I would rate the place at a lower 4. The ambience and the service was great. The place is popular as well. However, a place being a stakehouse and priding themselves with their meat should have no issues woth any of their meat. I had a dry-aged rib eye which had a bit too much nerves, whereas my wife got a very nice fillet. The side we ordered was too salty, we could not eat it. The dessert - apple crumble - was very nice though. One should not experience that much gamble at such a restaurant, hence a lower 4.
Very good service. Nice looking and beautiful decor. Tasty food, a tad too salty on the chicken but everything was amazing. Nice place to have a fancy dinner or celebrate an occasion.
We were at Vovem for our son's wedding. Well what can I say every member of staff were amazing, Venue was stunning and the food was excellent. They made it a very special and memorable day. Thank you so much.
The steak on the lunch menu is affordable. The steak was just really good. They grilled the steak well. Will come back for it again.

Tried Vovem for a second time after being underwhelmed with the service in February. What a difference! The service was incredible from start to finish.
The food was excellent, definitely the best place in Aberdeen for steak.
Had a couple of cocktails in here. Really nice bar. Lovely decor and the staff were great. Had some of the cocktails that were on offer and so when I could only mainly taste juice rather than alcohol I wasn't surprised, that being said they were perfectly fine tasting. Overall it was a food experience and I would come back and try the food.
