Aberdeen so needs this place! I'm staying in the hotel and have just eaten a solo meal in the brasserie. The food was fairly good though I'd have liked my honey roast vegetables roasted a little bit more convincingly. Having said all that, breakfast the next door soothed my temper as it was as marvellous as a breakfast in malmaison always is. And fish in chips in the bar at lunchtime was pretty spectacular too. My room was gorgeous. Plenty space, lovely bathroom, cosy bed. A room that looks out onto a school playground slightly bizarrely - which made for an interesting afternoon working at my desk. And the rest of the hotel is indeed, as scotgirl says, stunning. Welcome to Aberdeen, malmaison! We salute you.

I had really good breakfast and dinners here. My favorite breakfast is the waffle with salmon and cream cheese. The waffle is more or a crispy pancake topped with salmon and side of cream cheese, and hot tea to drink. I was in heaven. For dinner they took pride in their 28 days aged beef from Aberdeenshire and that was delicious with pomme frites, paired with their house Cabernet. Life was good. That's the great thing of staying at this hotel, after my delicious meal, I just walked up to my room. Amazing food, the one star off was I wished they have amazing dessert. I had the best dessert at moon fish cafe. I still think about that dessert. But, I salivate about the steaks here at Malmaison

I just had the best steak in all of Scotland, the service was even better. Shaun made us feel like we were the only customers in the entire place. I had the filet which melted in my mouth.

Good but not great. The decor of this place is done very nicely. Quite modern. We had dinner in the restaurant, which is in the back, not in the bar area. If you love red meat, this is the restaurant for you. If not, this is not the restaurant for you. Almost every choice on the menu is red meat. When we went there, we tried everything (a starter, main, side and dessert) and though it was good, I just don't think it was the best food out there for the price. My husband and I both walked away with more than stuffed bellies, so the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere was wonderful and so was the service, I have just had better food elsewhere.

I also agree with other comments, its really good but not great ! unlike its sister company Hotel Du Vin in Cambridge, it doesn't even come close. Aberdeen really needs a quality Restaurant but until then, this is as good as it gets.

This review refers to the restaurant and not the hotel rooms. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!! The hotel is simply stunning inside and the bar area was welcoming and sylish. Before you even get to the restaurant you will be in awe of the surroundings, everything is stylish and attractive. You walk over a glass corridor under which you can see their wine cellar. The restaurant is large, with high ceilings and stylish decor. There are 2 private rooms you can see into - one next to a large store room with all the locally sourced meat hanging! The style is locally sourced Scottish food cooked well. The oysters were delightful and better than I have had anywhere, however the star of the show was the steak, cooked beautifully and melt in the mouth - I challenge you to find better!!!! The service was attentive and friendly. The bill was as you would expect - £105 for 2 people, 2 courses, bottle of wine and coffees, but worth every penny. Can't wait to return!

Had a great few days in this beautiful hotel. The rooms are really clean and well decorated. The food is delicious, kudos to the chefs. Two evenings, we had dinner in the main restaurant which has an extensive menu and once in the bar. The breakfast choices include a full Scottish with tea and toast. The bar is well stocked with an assortment of drinks and snacks. The best part of our time there was with the staff. Great service with a friendly attitude and a good sense of humour. We would highly recommend a stay here when visiting Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

Extremely phenomenal!!!! One of the best prawn cocktail we had. It’s was fresh and tasty, it was all balanced taste from the sauce. And the burger it was good as well it’s juicy, savoury and big portion. For my fries I had a Truffle and cheese fries it’s perfect! And for dessert it’s was delectable! I will come back for sure!

Came here on my first evening in Aberdeen with my family. Lovely place and the decor/atmosphere, loved it! The chicken starter was delicious. I also got the salmon with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce as the main, and creme brulee as the dessert.

Food was good and simple. Service was friendly and professional. Atmosphere can be loud. Ended up requesting a seat by the front door near a small fire. Would recommend. Don't get the cheesecake.

Mid afternoon visit. The atmosphere was a bit lacking but to be expected for time. Service was OK but needed prompted for drink refills/reorders. Menu OK. Limited and pricey for what it is, but a varied choice. The food we ordered was very nice.
