We had the pre-theatre menu. My husband had the prawns and I had Stornoway Black Pudding with pigeon. Both starters were excellent. For our main course he had lamb chump and I had sea trout with a crab fishcake. Again, both were excellent. Service was good and the waiting staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
,My daughter and l decided to have a meal before going to the theatre at the 1906 Restaurant within the theatre. Must admit we were both slightly apprehensive, as never been before, and knowing they were normally very busy and had to be on a tight schedule for theatre goers did give cause for doubt! Neednt have worried as we enjoyed one of the most delicious meals with first class service all completed with the utmost efficiency and timing! Thoroughly recommend this restaurant and wouldnt hesitate returning when we next make a theatre visit or just out for the evening!! Well done to all staff involved. This was last year to be honest, but sure you will not be disappointed. Do give reviews, but only where it is justified. hence this one has a highly recommended from both of us
Quiet cafe in the middle of town, which is a rare find. The glass walls give the café an open feel, and the selection offered (whilst perhaps a bit basic) is sufficient. Prices maybe a bit high, but other than that a nice alternative to Union Terrace Gardens on a rainy day!
Went for afternoon tea with my mum. They offer a vegetarian or vegan option, and made sure they were brought out on separate plates. Service was lovely and waiting staff checked in on us frequently throughout.
Nice place to have lunch. Variety on the menu is not so good since the panini menu and the toastie menu had only 2 choices each. Coffee was great, soup was ok but a bit watery. Good service and atmosphere but there is better places around the area to have lunch.
Nothing quite beats the Toastie + Soup of the Day combo. You are likely to run into Theatre staff in the café dining room who are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the place.
The downstairs area is nice for a coffee/tea/scone, etc.
The upstairs area is the main restaurant area.
Very nice place for families and couples.
Nice, atmospheric place. Cafe good for a quick bite, and the restaurant upstairs is a delight.
Nice, airy surroundings, excellent freshly prepared food. Would definitely return.
Friendly and bright cafe with good range of food at reasonable prices. Part of the theatre.
I'm in here all the time, excellent coffee and relaxed atmosphere.
Busy but pleasant staff and very acceptable food choice.
