I went in to get some books for my little girl as she is just starting to read. I went at the counter and asked the lady for some advice as wanted to get something fun to read. She was so nice, helpful and very knowledgeable!

This book shop is amazing, has so many genres but if you compare prices with Amazon, it's bit expensive than Amazon for the same books also.

Not the biggest store, but still plenty to browse. And they tend to get in stuff I don't always see in bookshops, in particular, the Fantasy & SF section. Great, friendly staff, too, which is the most important thing. In particular, the café is great, with lovely staff.
Edit: I am finding quite often that books they have in stock are damaged, sometimes significantly so. I don't know if it's a warehouse thing or a store thing, but it's stopped me buying a lot of items. Shame.

Absolutely brilliant visit to Waterstones using book tokens which I received for my 70 th birthday. Fantastic choice of books ( I browsed for over two hours), friendly , professional staff who are obviously interested in books and an attractive looking cafe . Would definitely recommend.
