Love the place. As a rail enthusiast that usually finds myself on a train out of this station this station can vary day by day. Good parts of this station is that it is historic and still shows signs of earlier days. It is well sign posted and is easy to navigate. although small it manages to run services north and south running about 10-15 trains in and out in the hour. One half and half points about this station is the staff. Some days you can walk in with the most friendliest staff with others you can find yourself trapped with some grumpy staff members. some of the down points are the fact that there are 4 platforms that could be in use to help run more services. of course platforms 1 and 2 are used as sidings but there's platforms 8 and 9 which could be through platforms like 6 and 7. another down point is the idea currently is to renovate the station. unfortunately this will hide or destroy some history which is sad to hear. overall it is a decent stations that should have some potential reopening to platforms and upgrades that might restore what was there before or upgrade less useable places.

This seems to be a bit on the small size of a station compared to the other big cities in Scotland.It is situated right in the centre of the city and has the Union Square shopping centre next door.There is pick up and drop of points plus a taxi rank,There is a ticket office,barriers and a train timetable information board.This station serves all areas of the country both North and South,is a nice building and also has a coffee shop and is close to shops,bars and restaurants,bus routes etc
