We walked from our Airbnb to this restaurant/hotel for dinner and it did not disappoint! The service was so kind and welcoming. We did not have reservations but due to how early we arrived they fit us in. We were so thankful. The food was lovely and tasted even better! It has become a very fond memory of our experience in Scotland! This is a gem of a restaurant, between the yummy food, welcoming service and the stunning view… one can not go wrong here!
I've always been weary of small independent hotels however was pleasantly surprised by the Chrag.
My booking was efficiently handled and received a warm welcome on arrival. My room was well furnished, decorated and most importantly, clean.
Couldn't fault my meals. Well prepared and served on a hot plate, the way all hot meals should be.
Watch out for Jack if he comes begging for the odd titbits. Don't be fooled by those pityful eyes; you wouldn't do him any good feeding him.
I had an absolute delicious meal in the restaurant when I was staying nearby.
Fantastic selection of meals, all incredibly well cooked and presented beautifully.
I would recommend the food and the service here to anyone who is in the area.

My friend and I had been to visit the Fortingall Yew, and found the Ailean Chraggan with it's inviting restaurant not too far away... We were immediately greeted by Jack, who came over to the car to let us know he was up for a game of "Throw me a stick" which we obligingly participated in!
The food was wonderful! I mean it was delicious! We ate far too much, and actually took some with us for our evening meal! The setting was lovely and the lady who looked after us was warm and welcoming and very helpful!
I don't believe I could recommend this restaurant too highly, and if I had the opportunity to visit this area again, I would definitely be interested in staying at the B&B as well!
Nice location, we were staying in the area and restaurant was recommended. Starters were nice, main course was fresh but portion could have been bigger, 1 potato croquet and small piece of fish was rather mean. Service was basically non existent, could have been a bit attentive
I was treated to a birthday meal here - excellent friendly and fast service with good menu and wine list. I had Scottish mussels in a Thai broth as starter, followed by venison steak as main and creme brulee to finish. Excellent value for money!
Wonderful food ! Including the varied breakfast menu, great staff ,very helpful and friendly the hotel is dog friendly and has a secure garden area ,prices about what you would expect from this high quality menus, cannot fault anything. You will also find the locals friendly and many have dogs and this hotel as a " local "
We had a meal in this lovely hotel. My sister and I are both gluten free and we could pick whatever we wanted from the menu. We had 4 starters, 4 main courses, 2 desserts and 5 drinks all for £146. Amazing value and all delicious, we will definitely be visiting again.
The staff are welcoming and do their best to give you a Michaeline Star experience in the restaurant. The food was very nice and the portions were generous, excellent value for money.
