I popped in for some lunch but my timing was a little off, so I had to settle for a shot of whisky while I chatted with a member of staff.
I liked the display of whisky bottles and chose a Glengoyne 12 y.o. malt.
There was a bottle of Deanston's. I had once visited both distilleries on the same day.
It was a shame that several places down the river side of the high street were shut because they had been flooded.

My fiancée and I stayed in Aberfoyle in Duke's Cottage in August last year (where we got engaged!). The Aberfoyle Inn was just simply awesome. The people that work there are fantastic. So kind and welcoming! A perfect place to go for a drop of whatever you fancy at reasonable prices and the food looked top notch too (we didn't get a chance to eat there). Highly recommend! We'll be back at some point, no doubts. A long jaunt from Southampton but for places like this, very much worth it.

Super nice people. The town is so delightful. We just stroll down the main street and enjoyed the town. It's a great location. We enjoyed staying here, but there is no lift, so you must carry all your luggage up the stairs.

Popular bar right in the centres of Aberfoyle. Very unusual interior as it was originally a apothecary the barmaid told me. Great selection of drinks and nice friendly staff. Chippy next to it belonging to pub if you fancy some chips.

Stopped for lunch here. Charming restaurant, great decor, really nice owners & staff, best soup and sandwiches! Highly recommended. Btw we’re Canadians on holiday.
