What a hidden gem this is! Went today and had a gorgeous afternoon tea. Beautiful family run hotel with some great views, lovely decor and spotlessly clean. Family simply cannot do enough for you (without being over bearing), even before entering the building they were so helpful ensuring I got in the easiest route possible (Im on crutches). Nothing was a bother for them and there was no pressure of time from them at all, could have sat and enjoyed it all afternoon. Food was fabulous, cakes to die for, the largest selection of teas I've come across and an amazing whisky room (for non drivers of course!) Wouldn't hesitate to recomend this wee gem, will definately be returning!
Every time we've been to The Dowans for food the service has been impeccable - it's always nice to return somewhere and be remembered. Thank you for a wonderful stay in the stunning Macallan room this weekend. Delicious cocktails, the best eggs benedict I've ever had and overall a very relaxing stay. Highly recommend. Thank you!
