The Olive Branch

Right on the Promenade overlooking the sea, peering out of the window with a glass of retsina and a freshly made plate of calamari was like being transported back to Greece… apart from the rain bucketing down outside. Lovely people running the place, friendly welcome and really tasty well made food. Highly recommended.

We stopped off in Aberystwyth on the way back home from a week in Llandudno. It was after three o'clock, and we were ready for a late lunch, we looked in a few windows, read a few menus and were turned away from another restaurant that had run out of food! Then we happened upon the Olive Branch. We looked at the menu and yes our vegetarian member could find something nice, so in we went. The welcome was warm and the environment nice. We all ordered and waited, when our food arrived we were impressed, it looked really lovely and smelt divine, and didn't let us down, everything was super fresh and top-notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Plus they are a deli, so we were able to stock up on the olives we love, at a very reasonable price. So happy the other eateries could not accommodate us.

Lovely restaurant with great food. We booked late but managed to get a table at 6.00. (They do two servings - 6.00 and 8.30) The staff were friendly and we ordered a bunch of starters rather than main meals. The quality of all the food was excellent and we'd love to be able to return here sometime. Book early and ask for a window table (overlooking the promenade) upstairs. You won't be disappointed.
