Saphan Thai

Booked all three nights of our short stay in Aberystwyth. This was our first night and we were a bit doubtful having travelled for a month in Thailand earlier in the year. However we were so impressed we cancelled our final night reservation so we could return to try more of the menu options here. On our first visit we had prawn skewers and sai krok (Thai sausage) to start, followed by Ka Tok pork and larb. Everything was gorgeous. Spicy and full of flavour. On our second visit we shared a som tam salad, something I fell in love with in Thailand and this was equally or better than the ones I had there. The seafood pad cha was lovely but only contained prawns as the squid was sold out. Pad prik gaeng completed our order. With a bottle of wine each time the bill was a reasonable 50-55 pounds. Service was efficient and friendly. Can't recommend this place more highly.

Absolutely fantastic and authentic Thai food - generous portions and excellent value for money. A charming family run restaurant, with efficient and friendly service. Great to have two sittings in the evening. Definitely the best place to eat in Aberystwyth - have been twice in the last week. Enough said. Thank you Saphan Thai, best wishes Kate Straw :)

The food here is excellent, spiced amazingly well, with a good amount of kick if you're looking for it, without losing it's flavour. Almost everything can be made as a vegetarian option. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and knowledgeable. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Aber (as long as you like Thai food). Prices are very reasonable as well.
