Don't go here often as it's hard to judge when the shops you like are open. But the little cafe in there serves a chunky cheese and ham bap. The coffees good to but i don't know if the prices are wrong or not here. I had a bap for 2.75 and a coffee for 2.10 and was charged 5. 10. May have been an oversight so I didn't say anything I was taking away so maybe it's a charge they have for eating in and forgot. Enjoyed my bap and coffee but will double check the change next time.

Andy's guitar shop - I recently decided to find a new electric guitar, primarily for recording. Having searched the web, I decided that the right thing to do was to check out the local suppliers first and to spend locally if I could, especially after the hard times brought about by the pandemic. I made a special trip to Andy's shop at the Market Hall in Aberystwyth. What a disappointment; the owner informed me that he was busy with paperwork and carried on doing his books, without offering any help. He reluctantly took a guitar off the wall for me to see, but didn't even offer to plug it in so that I could hear it properly. I handed it back to a very worried looking shopkeeper who immediately starts fervently wiping the guitar down with a cloth. When I asked to see a second guitar, he informed me that he'd rather not let me touch it as some "stuff was on my arm and it was getting on the guitar." Fair enough, I had been painting earlier and there were some flecks of paint on my skin and a couple may have come off onto his guitar , I didn't see any - but it's hardly the end of the world when someone might buy your wares anyway I'd have thought. With that total lack of interest and for looking down his nose at me in such a condescending way, I informed him that I was actually a serious buyer but that now I'd go and look elsewhere to spend my money due to his obnoxious, snobby and patronising attitude. He missed a sale today because of his preciousness and I'll happily go elsewhere where my custom will be appreciated and where a decent service is offered in a friendly manner. Having been a professional musician for many years, I know lots and lots of local musicians who may be his future customers. Already today, I relayed this experience to a musician friend and he told me that Andy has a poor reputation precisely because of his bad attitude and poor service. I will warn every other musician friend about this guy and won't even buy so much as a plectrum from his precious shop in the future.

Good mix of shops. Cosmic Gypsy is my favourite. They sell a good selection of stones, tarot cards, jewellery, sphynx heads. Lots to chose from.
