What a find. Unassuming exterior reveals a sort of film-set dark wood interior that’s part highland croft and part pirate hideout. Certainly a setting for a winter’s eve by the fire. Yet there’s also a pool table, video jukebox and a high-energy and chatting waiting service, so this is no theme park of a pub. Just as you’re trying to understand the approach you realise it’s about food - high quality, local and fresh. Boom. The lobster and scallops are exceptional. They are alive in my memory and I’m counting the time till I can go again. Fish and chips were excellent. Burger was tasty. In all a cracking find and worth a drive from the main road.

A massive shame and I'm not going to complain about the place as it was fine. The food was good, the staff were lovely, but we firstly checked it out on there Web site first before booking and it stated a 8 oz Serloin stake was £16.50, but we paid about £29.00. I appreciate that prices have increased for just about everything in the world right now, but this seems majorly extreme. My partner and I both said that if the cost was a little lower we would have returned again before we left for home, but not at these increases. Please change your Web page.....

Fantastic food...great atmosphere we went 2 nights running when at the camp site. You'd better book, otherwise you won't get a table

Cosy place, full of history and character. Delicious and locally caught sea food cooked simply by the family. Unassuming, lots of local characters around to get into it with over a few drinks. Good Guinness and local bottled beers.

A very nice little pub and very friendly, all the staff were great. We had a fantastic meal that was good value for money. I would recommend a visit here.

Lovely welcome, food was amazing all dishes well presented and staff so kind from the beginning to when we left. Dogs waited in the car so no problem at all.

We drove 40min just to get to that pub but oh boy was it worth it! Very cosy little pub and very typical, nice relaxed atmosphere with mostly locals (I think we were the only tourists which made the experience even better, we were there in March but I'm guessing it's a bit more crowded in the summer). Good selection of food, I had the fish and chips and it was very tasty, not to greasy. The host is very helpful and didn't mind repeating when we struggled with the Scottish accent :) very nice place, I would definitely go there again and would warmly recommend for some authentic pub experience!

Perfect spot all around. Special thanks to the staff (Mitch & Gemma...I think?) who were so lovely to my husband who had to make some work phone calls...the wifi was awesome, the lunch he had was delicious and they really made him feel welcome (and not too sad about missing our fantastic beach day). It was so great we stayed for dinner date and had a top notch meal. The seafood was out of sight, the pub itself is really cozy and delightful. And the view! Wow.

Me and my wife dined here last Wednesday evening while touring Scotland. Place had good atmosphere with nice friendly staff. Food, though a little pricey in my opinion, was delicious. We had the fresh caught Haddock and the Steak pie followed by Hot sticky toffee pudding and ice cream which was lovely. Couldn't fault it. The girl who served us even pointed us in direction of Achmelvich Bay for next day which was worth the drive. Am Fauran bar is in a pretty remote part of Scotland but definitely worth a visit if you are in area.
