Absolute gem of an Inn. Beautiful setting, has a lovely decked area at the back with views of the countryside. Staff are very friendly and attentive especially if you have any allergies etc. Very good sized portions of meals and desserts. There is accommodation as well.

Recently stayed and ate an evening meal at the Throckmorton for a family get together. Lovely clean and well equipped bedrooms which are good value and included a great cooked breakfast. The evening meal and service were both excellent with really helpful and efficient staff. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is a very beautiful pub, with great countryside veiws, when sitting outside on the patio. Inside is nicely decorated too. The service was amazing, from the table staff, the bar staff too the glass collectors. The food was delicious. The prawn and calamari stater were amazing. My Only complaint would be the small portion size. The main course of a traditional Sunday roast was also very nice, with plenty of fresh steamed veg, and a large yorkshire pudding. Also, there is a good selection of draft and bottled beers. And soft drinks. We had a great late afternoon Sunday meal. Thank you.

Quick and easy check-in. Very pleasant staff explained all we needed to know. Room a little on the small side but spotless and nicely decorated. The evening meal where we chose the fish Friday option was lovely. Huge portions and very good value. We are here for 2 nights.

Had lunch at the pub to break a visit to nearby Coughton Court. The food was very good, especially considering the prices aren't that high, and served by friendly staff in a smart but relaxed environment. Even got to try a very good sea casked whisky, which was a nice surprise. Definitely worth a return visit sometime to get those stamps on the loyalty card!

We stayed at The Throckmorton for one night. Able to self- check in online after asking the manager as the usual checkin time did not fit in with the time of the air show. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel. They put it in our room in preparation when we got back. The room was excellent value King size bed was very comfy had a great night sleep. Breakfast was cooked to order delicious good quality ingredients would definitely stay again. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

The best Inn I attended for the last time. I came from my night shift and slept over 😴 the Breakfast at 10.30 but lovely personally served it to me at a quarter to 11. The Breakfast was delicious 😋 the nature is amazing John Keats' meadows. One of tge best historical inns in England near Coughton Court, Studley and Reddich.

We have been to the Throckmorton many times and have had very nice meals and service .This time i was a bit disappointed with our meals , I had chicken pie mash and veg ,i did ask for no kale (cattle fodder ) as i all ways find it tough to eat .I had kale served on my plate ,or very tough cabbage .and the chicken pie was not very full . My wife had sea bass with linguini ,one small peace of fish , ( had one swam away ) .Service was very good .We will return .

We reserved a table for two and arrived for our meal. It was a Saturday night, so was quite busy. First impressions on arrival, there were lots of lads about in around the entrance and in the bar area, there seemed to be some rugby on? They were a little rowdy but not aggressive. However when we went inside the establishment there was a group just through the door, we assumed they were part of this party. There was a chap in the middle who looked quite grumpy, and at first I thought he was with the lads. But then it became apparent he worked there as he asked us if we had a table. The tone was quite surly and there was no smile. I replied yes, we had a reservation, and he explained we would need to move up inside the restaurant to be received and shown to our table. It felt a little tense, and it felt as if he were on "bouncer duty" rather than welcoming customers. Perhaps he was a little stressed out from something that had happened before our arrival? It just did not feel that welcoming and for what was arranged as a romantic meal for the evening, I was a little worried in case the rest of the service would be like that. We had not been before, so made our way up to the area he had explained to go. There was no sign to say, "please wait here to be seated" so we awkwardly waited by the till until we were received. The waitress was apologetic and friendly and we were then shown our table. From that point on, our experience improved greatly. The serving staff were clearly dealing with multiple customers, but the time to be seen was reasonable. Drinks were offered and served quickly as we settled in, and menus brought promptly. They also did not bother us during our meal with the "is everything okay" question right after you have stuffed a forkful of dinner into your mouth! It was good that you were left to it. The table was nicely presented with a candle in a block of glass on it. We opted for just a main course and dessert. We ordered a rolled pork shoulder, and the slow roasted duck leg. The wait for the food was fine, it arrived in about ten minutes. The meats were succulent and perfectly cooked. The vegetables and sauces were delicious. For dessert we ordered a chocolate brownie, and the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. These came served with a scoop of ice cream and were drizzled with jus. Both were very tasty - the cheesecake was of a good substance, it seemed to actually be made from cream cheese for a change, and the biscuit base had just the right amount of crunch. After eating our meals, we relaxed with our drinks. They had a substantial menu of both food and drink and it was hard to choose. I think the only reasonable thing to do would be to go back and try other offerings! The waiting staff and bar staff are pleasant and helpful, and the ambiance within the restaurant is relaxed and comfortable. The decor is a bit too much on the contemporary side for me, but I won't knock it for that! However the food, atmosphere, and service are excellent. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars was due to how we were received when we arrived.
