Sat outside. And enjoyed an Alchole free beer and oysters and batter oysters to. Was so delicious. Had a good talk with the waiter. it was so nice. Thank you.
Wow I had the summer salad for lunch and it was amazing, absolutely gorgeous.
We tried to come back for an evening meal but sadly they were full both days, so book early if you want to come here.
However, not to be beaten, we got a takeaway from here instead, I had the fish curry, that was also really lovely.
Without doubt this is a fantastic restaurant.
Lovely cosy place
Service was impeccable - 6stars!
Big thank you to the waiter who catered for my needs
Delicious food throughout
Situated on high street a stones throw from the beach, you know the fish has to be fresh.
Mostly fish based menu but it still manages a varied and interesting range of dishes.
For starters we shared halloumi "chips" with sweet chili dipping sauce and houmous with bread.
Our mains were a rich and creamy crab gratin, full of crab with a crunchy topping and a deeply filling fish pie with smooth potato and a rich selection of white fish and salmon.
Pigging out, we also opted for a very rich chocolate and cointreau pot and a delicious raspberry trifle.
The whole meal plus drinks was only around the £60 mark. A bargain if you ask me.
Would certainly visit again.
We just randomly happened upon the place for lunch, and it was the best food we had all weekend. One of our party is notoriously hard to please(trained chef), and they cleaned the plate, unheard of! I had the pan fried king prawns with garlic, lemon and chili, and I loved it, outstanding. Service was quick and attentive, but I think the full kudos has to go the food, all credit to the chef.
First time here yesterday 21/6/23 but definitely not the last. Fabulous food, great service from everyone and a good ambience. My husband had the gravadlax, I had the potted shrimp and we shared a bowl of cockles. The mains, fish pie and the pasta with prawns and scallops both simply delicious. We both had a dessert, I had the warm lemon drizzle cake with lemon curd, hubby the bread and butter pudding, again both delicious 😋. The bill of £150 wasn't too bad considering we had 3 bottles of wine, but still excellent value for money. To all the staff at Aldeburgh Market thank you for all your hard work (especially the chef) we will definitely be seeing you again.
Service was good, seating outside with the sun shining down while eating amazing fresh food...large oysters, tasty prawns and sumptuous fish and chips! They had lovely SA white wine to pair with the food!
Fish and chips lunch, sat outside on a glorious sunny afternoon. A bit cramped for space on the pavement, but the fish and chips was top rated. A substantial piece of fish, with chunky chips. Adnams beer batter. Fish was nicely cooked and the chips were crisp and fluffy inside. Other diners seemed to be enjoying their lunches too, having other options on the menu. We were beaten by the portion sizes, so our retriever was very happy with his ‘doggy box’ of remains.
Bloody lovely! Peter Grimes would be proud! Good food, friendly staff, decent sized dishes and reasonable price (for Aldeburgh!) 👍🏼🐟
One of the better places in town to get fresh seafood. Busy at lunch until about 3, so you will need a reservation during those times. Indoor and outdoor table service. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion. £17.50 for a fish plate which was just ok and the fish soup for £10 which was better than the fish plate.
