Usually ok £8.50 for lunch and a dessert is good value for money. The roast beef was a little bit dry this time. Should've opted for the braising steak. Still waiting for my horseradish sauce 🙄
Stopped here for lunch to break a long car journey. Turned out to be a very good choice - friendly, very good food. Very reasonably priced too! We'll call again next time we set off on our travels.
Looks run down on outside and a bit inside but food is amazing, especially the carvery, one of the best pub food ever. Will definitely return however one four stars as there needs to be more clarity of when you can eat! There's not a lot of the website or signs outside doesn't explain in enough deta
My first time here tonight and will definitely be back. Had a delicious home cooked steak pie with veg and chips and my partner had beef madras, both were absolutely delicious! Didn't realise mine came with a sweet too, absolute bargain! Lovely friendly bar staff, made us feel very welcome. Some lov
Fabulous Sunday lunch as always This place will be very sadly missed by many happy retirement to the owner Trish x
Great, honest, homely feeling pub, selling beautifully made home cooked food at amazing prices. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The landlady came over to us to talk us through what was on offer and engaged with my 3 year old son, even getting him to agree to extra broccoli to go with his
The wobbly wanderers were passing and as it was lunch time in we went. The pub was busy but we managed to find a table with ease. I opted for a Stella and Chicken in white wine the other wanderer elected for a J2O and roast of the day(Beef). After a longish wait our food arrived hot and sizzling. T
As usual, best chips ever. Warm welcome, good menu. Very busy on Sunday so need to book for the carvery
Had an amazing meal. Traditional home cooked. Great portions. I had the madras curry while my partner had a pie from the specials board. My curry had so much meat in. Absolutely beautiful. Melt in your mouth beef. The pie from the specials board also came with a sweet and all for the price of £6.95.
We arrived here as a result of a reservation at a nearby restaurant having fallen through. This is a great homely pub with wonderful food. The staff and locals were very friendly and the menu extensive. We were expecting to wait as the food is freshly prepared but it was worth it! This was the be
Good pub grub for a reasonable price, had the braising steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. Knocked a star off because it's cash only, even i take card payments in the middle of a field on Tansley Sunday market
If you want the carvery BOOK first. The best carvery ever and may I say the odd pint or three is just wonderful. . All food cooked from fresh not like a lot of other pub chains and not portion controlled or bought in meal portions. Proper food at a proper price no offers no gimmicks. BANG ON BRILLI
Great for Sunday roast. Very good choices in both meats and vegetables. Gets a little crowded due to the popularity of the place. Car parking a bit awkward. But you can't have everything for the price of the meals, again excellent value.
We were staying the area for a family Christening and were looking for somewhere ahead of time to eat. We found The Devonshire Arms online; the reviews looked good so we booked a table. The pub was not the 'country pub' that we were expecting but the drinks were reasonably priced with a great select
Lovely home cooked food at very reasonable price. All the staff we encountered were great and really went out of their way, particularly in helping to entertain our toddler. We would definitely recommend and would love to return
