Hooked Restaurant

Didn't make a reservation as we were just passing by visiting for the day but they managed to squeeze us in anyway. Small but great selection of very well presented and freshly cooked food. Best seafood I have had in some time, definitely lives up to it's reputation. Mussels were cooked beautifully. Good portion sizes. Fantastic, friendly service. Will be returning next time we are in Alnmouth!

We booked very late notice but got a table for two in the snug section, which does actually accept well behaved dogs (the main restaurant doesn't). I was worried it wouldn't be very inviting and be hidden away forgotten about since it is a snug but it was lovely and the staff didn't forget about us, as you are still in good view. It felt nice and intimate actually. The food was gorgeous with sensible portions. I had three courses, which is often unknown for me. Interesting seafood options obviously (being a seafood restaurant) cooked very well. I don't like all seafood but there was still enough choice for me to have something nice. They are not open all year round, so check opening times before assuming it will be open when you visit.

Delicious food, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the servers were both so lovely and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We had what can only be described as the BEST calamari EVER!!! And we have eaten a lot of calamari lol. Ihad the chowder which was a little too salty for my taste but it was so jam packed with fish and vegetables i enjoyed it none the less and my partner had the cod which was amazing,meaty and so beautiful and white. I highly recommend this restaurant to all ages and the ambiance was great.
