So having had my daughter's 18th and my wife's 50th at the Old Hall, we decided to end the year there at the New Years Eve party. Can honestly say Jeanette and Tony have taken the place back years... to when it was a busy, lively, fun place to be. The place has been wasted for years, but not anymore. So if you're local but remember going in to find the place devoid of atmosphere and pretty much empty, pop in some time. You will be presently surprised. Particularly if Norm is playing some tunes....
Had a lovely meal with my family this evening. The staff were very helpful, my kids are fussy eaters (e.g. my daughter likes plain chicken, no sauce or bacon) and so they adapted the menu for them. They ate everything on their plates, happy kids = happy me :) My gammon steak and chips was very nice too. Thank you :)
Realy friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Food was very tasty and loads of it. this will be my new place to eat out.
Overlooking the 16th hole of Altrincham Golf Course, I've eaten here a couple of times with the family and it's been an enjoyable dining experience.
You'll find their long bar right in front of you when you enter, with the area by the door having a few armchairs for a quiet drink. On the right are more pub-style table and chairs under a high ceiling.
Though it looks like a place that takes your order at the table, you actually have to go to the bar yourselves. If you're there on a Sunday, I'd fully recommend the carvery - there's usually a choice of turkey, beef, gammon, or some of each - with fresh vegetables, roasties and oodles of gravy to serve yourselves. They aren't stingy with the slices of meat either. If you don't want a carvery then they bring out your meals as normal.
The food is all good quality and reasonably priced. There's a nice selection of options for starters, main courses and desserts which you'd come to expect as 'pub grub' (farmhouse pate, steaks, cheesecake etc.). It's part of the Marston's pub chain, so their standards are what you'd expect from a well known business like theirs (i.e. very good).
A great, reliable choice of venue for a hearty family meal out with friendly staff.
I like old hall - Nice spot, local and friendly. Much improved service since I was last here. Came for curry night and had the hot as hell curry... So hot it hurts! Not for the faint hearted - managed to finish it but by God, those naga naga curries are deadly. Great wee spot though!
Lovely family friendly pub, always take care of my daughter who's coeliac with their gluten free menu and fully understand how important it is to prepare her food correctly.
Staff are always really friendly and happy to help.
Thank you old hall for being one of the few places we can eat without worry about my daughter getting poorly!
Had a lovely lunch at The Old Hall, on 30th August. The food was fresh, hot and well presented. The service was excellent and the hotel and its facilities were very clean. Staff are great: very welcoming, polite and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit. Thanks to Dan and the team.
Lovely place, great people with a fantastic friendly atmosphere.
All the staff are friendly and courteous.
The food is delicious.
Well worth a visit, highly recommended.
Driven past a few times and kept thinking what a beautiful building it is, and kept saying we need to try it! Finally went tonight. Fabulous staff and beautiful food. Found out when arriving that it was curry night (Wednesdays), £7 for a choice of curry (beef Madras, chicken tikka, chicken korma or veg curry). Fiance opted for a chicken korma and I went for the beef Madras. Both absolutely gorgeous. The beef was so tender! All curries come with naan, rice, poppadom and mango chutney. Sadly forgot to get pics of the food! Absolutely loved it and will be back soon ❤️
Had a lovely time at the old hall celebrating a family birthday. Food and atmosphere was perfect and service was great, especially considering there was quite a few of us ordering at the same time. Would highly recommend

Relaxed pub with good food and drinks, great value and a large outdoor seating area which is perfect when the sun is out. The perfect 19th hole for golfers and it's also family and dog friendly. All the staff do a great job as the place gets busy at times. Special mention to Jodie who is always very helpful and friendly.
I've been drinking in the Old Hall for years now. It's a good quality friendly establishment. Staff are super friendly (Jodie,Lucy and Mike are especially great people).Good quality 'pub grub' at reasonable prices is served here. All sports are covered here as well with plenty of screens. The place was jam packed out for the United v Liverpool game. To be there was a joy and a pleasure. Witnessing each of the 7 goals fly in was pure ecstasy.Entertainment at night is spot on with DJ Norm spinning the wheels of steel to keep the place jumping. My Bez dance went down a storm last weekend. I've known Dan for years and now he's in charge I'm sure The Old Hall is in great hands. With his hard work, passion and vision he will transport the Old Hall to another level of sheer hospitality bliss.
First time for ages in here, food was excellent pub grub, and at reasonable prices. A lot better than I was expecting and 3 empty plates. Dog friendly, family friendly, and finally a pub with a proper pub atmosphere again. We will definitely start frequenting here again.
Excellent pub in Timperley. Really nice food and a good selection of beers. Pleasant, attentive staff. 5 stars
