Really lovely atmosphere, good vibes. Food is good and the concept is nice. A couple of dishes weren't great, but in the whole the food was tasty and good value. Drinks were also good. The service was a touch hap hazard, but it was very busy, so the staff can defintely be forgiven for that. Plus they were all very friendly and welcoming Would definitely come again when I'm next in the area would recommend to anyone.

Having planned a last minute weekend away with very little research done we were resigned to having average to good meals in local pubs, how wrong we were! The Yard was recommended the night before we visited in a local pub, we got lucky with a short notice cancellation - so grateful! This place is just wonderful, we loved the decor, the small touches like the bronze colour scheme even down to the cutlery make it such a nice place to be. We tried several cocktails and they were all delightful! The wine recommended by our waiter was divine! All the staff are so helpful and knowledgeable, we ordered a couple of extra dishes because we were so hungry and I’m so glad we did! Wow! The food is just so good, being small plates you get to try so much more, it’s great for sharing. Working in London I can honestly say The Yard would fit right in somewhere like Covent Garden or Soho - it’s a very cool place! All round wonderful experience! I will definitely be visiting again.

Do not sleep on this place. Absolutely bloomin' outstanding. We ordered way too much, excited to get a break from the usual sea side offering and we still asked for every remaining scrap to be boxed to take home. It's was that good. Seafood, amazing, vegetable tempura, fantastic. Concidering the generous portions, great presentation and quality on show, we where really suprised to find despite ordering more or less half the menu, the price was excellent value for money. A treat more than a regular haunt, but an affordable enough treat we are going to probably treat ourselves again before we go home 🤣. We were lucky to get a walk-in spot along with our two doggies. Such friendly, genuine service and the food and drinks were just incredibly good! We had the Moscow mule with spiced rum and the espresso martini with Baileys! Each tapas dish was so delicious and we left the restaurant feeling so satisfied! Hit the spot - I would have literally ordered every dish on the menu if I could have eaten that much as I loved their take on the different dishes. This is a must visit place!

What a find - such lovely friendly attentive service & the food was amazing - small tapas size we were advised how many we should order for 2 - it was difficult choosing as the whole menu is so tempting! The atmosphere was lovely it got very busy very quickly & I would advise to book - we had a excellent night & will definitely return.

I rarely feel compelled to leave a review but The Yard really deserves a mention! Every member of our family (two adults, a 13 year old and 8 year old) look forward to our annual trip to this restaurant and, yet again, we had an absolutely amazing evening. From the warm welcome and delicious food to the personal attention from all members of staff, the experience at The Yard is second to none. A truly unique venue.

Probably the best restaurant in Appledore. The global tapas style menu makes for a fun dining experience. There are some absolute hits like the beef skewer, Spanish sausage and manchego fries. The duck in lettuce was a total miss. Personally I would remove it from the menu and replace it with a different duck dish.

Tucked away in Appledore, this tapas style restaurant is delightful! Well done! Good amount of choice on the menu and plenty of GF options! Staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. I particularly liked the duck but others in the group liked the cod and meatballs! Very good quality food. Oh and did I mention, it's dog friendly!?!

We absolutely loved this venue. This was the first time visiting, so we got some advice on number of dishes to order between the two of us. We landed on four dishes plus a salad. They had a good selection of local ales, bottled. And a nice selection of cocktails. I just loved the ethos this place has, if you go be sure to read this on the reverse of the menu. Spot on and we will return if in the area again. Also dog friendly.
