The best pub in England. I love everything about this place. The pie is the best pie I've ever had. I love the decoration, the fire, the beers, the staff. I'd go every day if I could.

Amazing English pub lunch in the Yorkshire Dales countryside. Accommodated a large group but we called ahead so that is encouraged. I had the steak and ale pie which was the best pie I experienced on this trip. My son had the wild game casserole which was top notch. For beers there were traditional York ales in casks and wide selection on tap.

Really quick and friendly service. Food is delicious. I especially liked the prawn katsu which kind of like a prawn croquette. The Sunday roast beef is one of best I had at a pub, wish theres more on the plate which was filled up with a huge Yorkshire pudding and veg. Chocolate brownie is warm n rich, served with roasted marshmallows and ice cream. Best was the view while enjoying our meal outdoors. Place got packed within 30minutes of opening.

We arrived for a couple of pints as part of our planned circular walk. Having know the reviews of this place previously we were not disappointed. It was a glorious Friday afternoon, not too busy, but it does get extremely busy on a weekend, so it is best to book a table. We were not there for the food this day, so we can not review that, but feom what we saw being served ot looked and smelt amazing. What I can say though is that the beer is perfectly kept and a wide selection of real ales on hand pull are available, all next to the amazing fireplace, such a cosy atmosphere. Thanks for the hospitality we received on arrival. We were really made to feel welcome.

Absolutely perfect pub; cosy, convivial, popular with locals and walkers, great range and warm fire, fantastic selection of beers, some only available in the vicinity. Could have stayed all day.

Would definitely recommend the Craven Arms. We've been going for many years when we are in the area. The staff are friendly, the food is fab and it's such a lovely pub. 5*

A bit of a mixed bag really. Some staff very obliging and helpful particularly one of the female bar staff. Unfortunately we were left quite disappointed when after reserving a table we arrived to find that it had been given to other diners. This was especially poor considering that we had eaten there previously during the week and also spent a fair amount on drinks. Sandwiches were particularly good but the evening meal of fish and chips with mushy peas was poor. Although the portions are very generous the chips and mushy peas were dried up and quite unappetising. Our second visit when our table reservation was ignored was quite puzzling . Three of the party of four ordered steak which at the time of ordering was clearly available on the blackboard menu which is regularly updated when food is sold out. When the same waiter arrived back at our table ( the one who gave our table away ) he announced no steaks left. Sorry but I just don't buy it. There was clearly some confusion between the extremely helpful female waitress and the new male waiter over table bookings. We made a reservation for the evening while enjoying lunchtime drinks. We decided not eat at the pub again but continued to enjoy drinks every day. You need to sort out that waiter please.

We stayed this weekend in the Shepherd huts at the back of the pub. It was the annual beer festival. We have had such a good time! The huts are delightful with all the creature comforts of home:- comfy double bed, underfloor heating, toilet and heavenly hot showers! Just what was needed on rainy, windy weekend. The pub itself is a little gem with it's open fires, gas lights and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Great food, great staff, this place really does have it all and I can't wait to come back!

Came here for lunch today after a visit to Bolton Abbey for my birthday. Food was fabulous! I had the fish finger sandwich, and the other half had the steak and ale pie, which was to die for! And to top it all off the sticky toffee pud is a sinful delight! Will definitely be visiting this little slice of Yorkshire again!

Richard, Tilly and the whole team at the Craven arms went above and beyond to look after me and my husband on our wedding day. They decorated the barn perfectly, the food was exceptional they even cleaned my wedding dress for me when a guest spilt red wine right down the front of me!!. We have been regular visitors of the craven since booking our wedding jan 2016. And intend to be for the rest of our lives. The team never fail to give a warm welcome and consinstantly top notch friendly service leaving you with a smile on your face planning your return. I really cant recommend this place enough with its qurky enviroment and friendly staff its stolen a peice of my heart. Thank you everyone. Lynsey Harrison.

An amazing pub, the menu was to die for, difficult to make a final decision .... so we need to go back and plough through the menu. My choice was better than my expectations, I chose the lamb chops, cooked to perfection and the red carrot jus was amazing, My hubby had posh fish and chips and that they were ... the pub itself is oldeworlde and quirky, great customer service even at busy times .... loved it thank you

As the celebrant from Starr Gazing Ceremonies, I had the honour of performing a wedding ceremony at Cruck Barn at The Craven Arms which is indeed a very special wedding venue. It has a wonderful blend of historical architecture and countryside elegance that is enhanced fully by the extremely helpful and enthusiastic staff that are always keen to ensure everything goes perfectly. I received a wonderful welcome from the staff and thoroughly enjoyed performing a wedding ceremony in the cosy and beautiful barn that has a truly unique ambience for your special day!

We stayed here last night, something different to celebrate my husbands Birthday. The Shepherds hut was fantastic, everything you could need. Something different than a b&b. We had tea in the Craven Arms. Fantastic service from the staff. Food was excellent. We both had the fish and chips and it was the best we’ve had in along time. We really enjoyed just being able to sit and chill with a drink in a real pub with a fire. Was nice to see people fetching their dogs in too and that they were welcomed. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back.
