Bearpig came recommended so we went there before exploring Arbroath. Mmmmmm the most beautifully presented croissant I have ever seen, and eaten (and croissants in Paris are pretty good). Heated in a proper oven with select pieces of fruit, even the swirl of butter was an art work. So much so that we went back for a cuppa before we went back to Fife .... and the warm beetroot tart and salad - was OMG - to die for. A great day wrapped in perfection. Don't tell too many people - keep this gorgeous place secret!
Visited Yesterday with my daughter for lunch, what an amazing little place. The food was so tasty and great quality, the coffee was delicious. Lots of lovely little touches like a free shot of smoothie and some popcorn was brought to us whilst we looked at the menu. For afters we shared a lime and pistachio tray bake absolutely heavenly. We will definitely be back it's our new favourite place.
My boyfriend and I stopped here for a late lunch a couple of weeks ago. Great tasting coffee, we both had the tuna melt and loved the salad that came with it. The member of staff on that day was a really friendly guy too, and the decor is amazingly kitsch! Definitely going to come back when we’re next in the area and have been recommending it to friends ever since!
My meal was curated. Every element of the Meze was carefully planned, executed and presented in a manner that forced me to stop and study it well before daring to disturb the composition. The couscous, hummus and falafel formed a triangulation of different textures and flavour profiles juxtaposed against Halloumi to create a nice balance between them. With just the right amount of fresh dill and mint, each bite was an epic journey across the taste map of my tongue. And the salad? I don't have a lot of time on my hands but am blessed with an eye for detail, and this salad was a motherf*ckin symphony!
Look at the picture. Do you see those carrot ribbons? And the rocket? They compliment each other in terms of firmness. This salad was colour theory in a bowl tossed with food science. A lot of people think you can just throw some lettuce in a bowl et voilà, but nah. Tenderstem, mango, tomato, seeds, pomegranate, rocket, purple cabbage, carrot ribbons, pickled onions, lemon juice, sugar and secrets masterfully added in just the right amounts. I'm dreaming about that salad tonight. I won't even try to recreate it, I've got to study it at least a dozen more times.
The owners care about what they're doing. It comes out in the skilfully crafted food and well-thought-out atmosphere. If you're a creative with a blockage, come here. If you're looking for a bite to eat, come here and be inspired.
Absolutely the best food and service. From start to finish the staff couldn't do enough for you. Very attentive to special dietery needs. Very relaxed place to visit. Highly recommend and we will be back soon
Lovely wee cosy place filled with retro memorabilia all around the place .
The caramel latte was amazing best I've had in a while.
Our server was a lovely gentleman that was funny and happy to be there.
Nice smile staff and very good coffee and organic cake, and nice place, music, love it
Lovely food and coffee, friendly staff and atmospher, eclectic and they welcome dogs. A lovely addition to Arbroath and definitely worth seeking out. The coffee was excellent, as was my lunch. I'll definitely be back 😁
The food here was amazing. I had a tuna melt and the bread was so crunchy and delicious. There are vegetarian options available. A meze platter which was excellent, some options on toast etc.
The only downside is the layout of the tables is a little odd. One big table takes up most of the room and the rest is a weird assortment.
Very lovely place. Great vibe, delicious coffee.
If you aren't sure just go! You won't regret it, so glad I chose this place, the cakes are absolutely delicious, my favourite was the tropical cake. Cappuccino and latte were great and the host was very nice, attentive and polite, will definitely go back.
Very laid back, stylish hipster atmosphere, with lots of lovely humorous details and plenty of welcoming touches. The service is relaxed, but friendly. The coffee is great and, though the food menu seems quite small, it's well-thought out with a nice variety and plenty of choice. The food we've tried has all been beautifully made, fresh, and very, very tasy. A very nice place to spend some time.
