An interesting and nice pub....trying to be a gastro pub. Food was fine and worth another try. It was a nice experience overall but I feel they need to raise standards. I just feel they lost something of what they used to be. I didn't see the rooms so I will give 5 as I believe it is fair.

We were staying at the Alton Towers hotel and were looking for somewhere nice to eat (outside of the hotel). We had such a fantastic experience here. The service was fabulous & the food absolutely delicious. Not cheap - but worth every penny. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be back. Thank you.

Previously posted on TripAdvisor An absolute gem. Despite not having a reservation for lunch on an obviously very busy day, we were very warmly welcomed and accommodated at a suitable table. The food was worth every penny. Yes, some of the menu may be more expensive than some are used to paying but the quality of ingredients, service and surroundings easily made it worthwhile. We loved the relaxed vibe from the experienced, knowledgeable and professional staff. For those with limited mobility there is a ramp from the carpark to the bar and also a separate one for the restaurant. Even if you have to make a big detour, do try out this restaurant. We can't wait to go back, but 5 hours plus drive each way means we may have to wait a while.

Amazing food. Impromptu visit in the way back from Peak Wildlife Park. Best food I have tasted for a long time. Very posh place. Not cheap but worth it for a treat out. Service is fantastic . Fresh local produce used. Highly recommend the bacon jam!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in the ‘flying ducks’ room! The room is beautiful, bed comfortable and decor stylish, we only wish we had a little longer in there! We went for a meal in the restaurant in the evening, the food was absolutely incredible! Each course was super tasty and the drinks were just as good. The bar man (blonde hair) made one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had! The wine list is also extensive and so plenty of choice. The breakfast the next morning was also really nice with just the right amount of options and really tasty! From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, thank you for a lovely stay!

Absolutely top quality. Dinner and stayed overnight, both excellent. Lovely air conditioned rooms, good shower. Food was excellent, one of the best steaks I've had.

Fell upon this gem whilst drifting home via some quieter roads. Didn't have a reservation but were offered a choice of tables and menus. Staff were friendly and attentive. A la carte lunchtime menu offered a good choice at sensible prices. Food was excellent. Will return next time we are in the area.

We chose this pub for my parents diamond wedding anniversary meal. The pub is welcoming and looks amazing, both inside and outside. Food was good as was the service, however the place was full of dead flower arrangements on the tables, it seemed that they put all of the attention into the good food and service, but forgot the overall guest experience. We asked to have the flowers removed, which they did swiftly. They produced a lovely piped dessert plate, for my parents, wishing them a happy anniversary and we all had a good evening. Would love to have given five stars but petals all over our table didn't make us feel valued. Please still visit this place as it is wonderful.

We called into this venue without booking in advance and were made to feel very welcome. The pub / restaurant is extremely well decorated and the food is obviously very good ingredients and extremely well cooked. It was extremely tasty. It is also dog friendly. Would highly recommend.
