Rose And Crown

Wow! What a find! This local, understated pub serves the best food. We had the the haddock and chips, beautifully presented on a hot plate with the most delicious thin crispy ale batter, delicious. My husband had the sausage and mash, again beautifully presented and every mouthful a treat. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert, what can I say!! A warm welcome with great service, we will be back, This pub run be Sian and Sam is a real find! We will be back. Richard & Jo

We had lunch here, very friendly, efficient bar staff. The food was excellent, my husband had truffle and parmesan fries, his favourite, and he said these ones were second only to the ones he had last year in Yarm, which were so good he's still raving about them. Well done Rose and Crown. Dog friendly too, thank you.

Just passing popped in for early lunch. Not very busy but had an excellent meal. Me Burger&chips my wife tuna jacket potato. Washed down with a good pint of Timothy Taylor. Service was friendly and welcoming. Pub was in good order looked like the painting had been recently refreshed. The meal doesn't sound like much in this review but it was 1st class. Highly recommended.

Last night we had a private event in the dining room, after our wedding we wanted a more lowkey and personal affair. Sian (Manager) believed although we were having something more intimate it shouldn’t have to be any less magical! She arranged to have someone attend and preform for us, a specialist menu which catered to our requests and set up decor that I had previously delivered. Sian ensured we had plenty of communication in the lead up to the event so she knew exactly what we wanted and she got everything spot on! Not only do they have an amazing team at The Rose and Crown, (extra shout outs to Sydney as well as Sian and chef Sam!) The food is incredible and they go above and beyond to ensure you’re satisfied! We left so pleased we’ve already booked our next dinner! Thanks for hosting our very large group and ensuring we all had the BEST time! You really made our wedding meal wonderful with all the extra love you put into hosting us, if I could give more stars I would!
