Probably in the top 5 of pubs I have ever visited since the age of 18. That's 34 years as I'm 52 now, the real ale choice is excellent, the staff are attentive, warm and friendly. The food is to die for all home cooked, I recommend the game pie when in season if not the steak and Stilton pie is awesome.
So busy for a Tuesday night but staff were attentive. Plenty of ales and gins to choose from. Good choice on menu. I had the Thai beef curry which was light and flavourful. Lovely twee pub with plenty parking.
Excellent pub food was lovely, Large selection of real ales, Staff courteous and informathey, We'll be going back to try the goat curry.
You need to try this place or you are missing out. Great variety of food of which the Indian is superb. Great quality beers on offer to include Erdinger on draft.
Been coming here for about 15 years now and it never fails to rank as one of my favourite pubs/restaurants. Firstly the choice of beer is fantastic, if you are a real ale drinker or a craft beer fan and enjoy German/Belgian beers then this place will be to your liking. The staff are lovely in there and the pub has a nice old world vibe to it. Lastly, the food is very and if you like curries then you have to try one from here as they are really good and a few good choices. Shoulder of lamb is amazing also. Worth a visit for drink or for food.
Had a lovely lunch at this real ale pub. It has a good menu with lots of choice, lovely specials and a fab choice of curries. We sat surounded by the History of Bhurtpore and the pub. First class ale and food. Friendly staff. Has lots of seating both indoors and out. Will definitely return.
Had such a lovely meal here tonight and I have to say that the food was lovely. Everyone loved there meals and the service from the staff was so friendly and very welcoming. We have been here a few times and just wanted a nice relaxing meal and that's what we got.
Finally managed to get here and what a great experience and pub!
Simon and Nicky the owner's made me feel so welcomed and got me a table in the rear dining area for a sit down with my pint and a meal.
The menu was amazing and the curry selection was excellent but having had a curry a few days ago, I went for the recommended "Beef lasagna" with crusty garlic baguette slices and a freshly, marinated salad...wow!
This was one of the best Beef lasagna's ever...

Good tasty curry. Also traditional pub menu including Steak and Kidney Pie. Tricky choices to be made - been twice great both times.
If you like good food and good beer then head here! Recommend making a booking if you want to eat as it gets busy.
Large family dinner and everyone really enjoyed what they had. Service was good. 2 of the men in our group had sticky toffee pudding and both highly recommend it!
Beautiful country pub with an excellent selection of drinks. Bar staff very friendly. Not tried the food but always people dining.
