We have dined here a few times. Sadly a little while ago they suffered a devastating fire but have reopened again. The pub is an old building with plenty of character. The jewel in its crown is being located in the lovely village of Aylesford right next to the river Medway. Their outside area offers lovely views of the river and old bridge crossing. They have a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. IMO they have upped their game on the food front, most patrons were there to eat and we saw some very tasty meals passing by us. We are being healthy ATM so went for tuna nicoise salad. Our came a lovely tuna steak with new potatoes and a leafy salad with olives, tomato and onion. They have some vegetarian and vegan options on their menu too. Service is not quick but I would rather have fresh cooked good food than zapped, poor quality food. We also treated ourselves to a frozen strawberry daiquiri slushy, very nice on a warm day. There is a free car park a five minute walk away, no parking on the street outside. In summary, a nice meal, not rushed . Staff except one were friendly.

We have been four times now for the steak Monday, it is the best we have ever eaten and love they do half price on Monday which means we can afford a meal out as a family, will come every fortnight whilst this runs. Drinks they have two pints for £8 between 4-6 which also helps us. Have also been for lunch the other day and was lovely too. Very helpful via Facebook message to which is good for me Tracy C

Food was good, but I think they could've served the ploughman's on a plate instead, it was quite hard to eat off the board. We sat inside and were disturbed constantly by the loud doorbell going off for the kitchen. Little things like this being fixed would make a world of difference

Nice pub lunch. I had the gluten free fish and chips which was really good. Beer garden backing onto the river was lovely.

Great pub right on the river. Parking was a bit of a struggle. Sunday breakfast service was slow, but it could have been down to staffing issues. Could not fault the food , delicious . Would defo recommend it, and I would go back 😃

Food was very good. Sitting in the garden watching the boats go by with food and drink was a nice experience. Service only gets four stars as on that day as there were four experiences whereby specific requirements were made with the food and drink and they were forgotten about before the items came out. All were rectified, however four occurrences during one meal is a little frustrating. Nevertheless, I highly recommend and will be returning to eat again.

The manager was personable and advised us to sit at a bigger table as we would have people passing us quite a bit (as the table we choose was by the toilets, and we didn't realise). The food was very nice and you could tell it was cooked fresh and homemade. The pies were very tasty and the meat was tender. It was just a nice experience and afternoon. We will be coming back soon. Thank you

Second time here now, great service each time. Drinks are cold, food is hot and great tasting for both. Beautiful views outside and in. Thank you to the guy working this afternoon, he recommended the fish and chips… We were glad he did 😍
