Great gin selection, friendly owners, good food. Small, local pub feel. The owners are fairly new, so there are a few teething problems, but the atmosphere is welcoming and authentic. And the gin selection is very impressive. Good to see they have the local 1837 gin amongst the rest.
Probably the best Yorkshire pudding ever! Delicious traditional food and delightful staff. Highly recommended with dog friendly area too.
Haven't been for about 4 years but good to see the same team running it. Has a good menu, including rabbit pie, which you don't see very often. Nice selection of beer. Has a rrasonable sized car park opposite and a nice garden to the side. Booking recommended. Not to be confused with The Eyre Arms a couple of miles down the road.
Lovely place, excellent food (they can cook a steak properly and the truffle mash is absolutely gorgeous), good selection of beers and about a gazillion gins for the gin freaks! Not cheap, but very, very good food. And the place itself is cosy, dare I say even quaint, and friendly. Helpful and friendly staff. Great place for lunch!
Lovely old pub with lots of character. The staff that served us were friendly and welcoming. The food was good - solid pub grub, exactly what you want in this area with all the picturesque walks. Decent selection and quality of beers.
We loved this pub. Good staff and great food.
This was the first time we have been and we will indefinitely go again. The Sunday roast was delicious and food was home cooked (no frozen veg in sight). The young couple who are running this pub and their staff were all very welcoming and made sure our visit was a comfortable one. I would highly recommend a visit.
A very nice and picturesque country pub on the outside and very quaint and old-fashioned inside, which you would expect from a 17th century inn. The landlord and staff are very welcoming and friendly. It is also a dog friendly pub, although they are restricted to the tap room which is understandable as a good variety of food is served here. The choice of real ale wasn't in abundance so we opted for Swift Nick, which we were more than satisfied with as it was kept very well and went down a treat! Definitely worth dropping into if you're passing through Hassop or indeed just looking for a nice country pub to visit on a day out.
The way a country pub should be. Roaring files small bars and cosy snugs.
Friendly staff and great food.
The staff are always accomodating and when I've turned up after a muddy walk with 3 kids and a dog in tow and the staff are always welcoming.
I will keep returning.
This is a great little pub that benefits from not being run of the mill decor that's new made to look old. It actually is old.
Great beer and selection of bar snacks including pigs in blankets.
Yum
