This has a. Massive outdoor area with karaoke and covered too with canopies. The staff were very friendly and eager to serve when I was attending my fathers wake. A very cosy. Well layed out pub that is surprisingly nice to visit. Its not what I expected inside at all. Fantastic.

The engine has recently changed hands and the manager couldn't do more to make us feel welcome. I must admit it was a challenge playing by their beer pong rules but we got there!

This is one of the best places in Baldock. The staff are incredible. I felt sad and alone when I turned up, but I felt like part of the family after only ten minutes. If I lived closer I’d be there daily, but I’ll be there as much as I can. I’d recommend this place to anyone, they’ll really look after you!

Went for a Sunday Roast with my friend. We wernt sure on how to get in but think we were a little early and wandered round the back where we were greeted. Staff were all really friendly and attentive. And as other people arrived there was a great atmosphere. The roasts came out beautifully presented and were a good size portion. The beef was slightly more cooked then i would normally have but not overdone and it was all delicious. The roast potatoes were perfectly crisp and the gravey was rich and tasty. Thank you

Since the Engine had changed hands you can tell that money has been spent on making it a pub with plenty of space, atmosphere and great staff. Loads of great live music on regularly and despite it being very busy the service has been great every time. The burgers are fantastic too! Definitely recommend.

Lovely venue. Went their with my girlfriend (first time we had seen each in four months because of the pandemic) and it was great. The food (burger and chips/scampi and chips) came in good time and the staff were very friendly.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here last Sunday. We had a slight issue with ordering online but the staff went over and above to ensure the problem was rectified and served us a delicious meal. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back again. Thanks!

Every return to the engine since the re-launch it has been more & more enjoyable & atmospheric. Somewhere you can take your mum to for a catch up but also somewhere you can crack open a cold with the boys. Wicked selection of beers & great staff 👍
