Would have gave 5 for food quality. But.....
So I was staying at a beautiful holiday rental cottage in nearby Stranocum when I ordered a delivery from this restaurant.
The food was amazing. Really beautiful.
The menu in our cottage added up my order to just over £18 for a starter main rice and nann. I live in london and although this is probably a tad more pricey than what I would pay this didn’t worry me.
I called up giving my order (the person who answered struggled with what I was saying (although he was a local and I am from Belfast) May have been a bad line but was Chrystal clear my end!!
End of call I was advised total cost was £22.70. It will arrive in 60 mins. Fair enough I thought. They are in Ballymoney and we are 15 minutes away in Stranocum. Must be the delivery charge.
40 minutes later some boyo turns up with the food. Super!! Have the money to hand. £24.70 he says. £22.70 I was quoted I said. ‘Yes’ he said but apparently the div who took my order told him it was main street Ballymoney and not Main Street Stranocum even though I gave the full address and postcode. ‘I tried calling and left you a message’ he said. He didn’t.
I paid the extra much to my annoyance on afterthought.
The food was piping hot.
There is no way he was driving around looking for where we where.
He obvs just could not be bothered driving his fairly ample arse the short drive from Ballymoney to Stranocum and decided to charge me an extra £2 for the pleasure.
All in all if you want a beautiful Indian meal in this area this is the place. It was delicious. Just beware of the inadequacy of the staff and please pay what you are quoted in the event that lazy bollox is your delivery driver.

Consistently delicious food every time. I would highly recommend these guys for your next dining experience. The quality of ingredients and skill of the chefs are clear. It’s our no.1 choice for take away and the website is really user friendly and makes ordering a doddle.

We have just had a takeaway meal from Syed at the Indus Valley Express, Milltown, Ballymoney and being absolute honest it has been excellent. We order using the click and collect service via the Indus Valley App and what a clean and simple process it was. We were able to select our dishes and then make specific dietary requirement and menu changes via the App. When we picked up our meal it was exactly as we had ordered, the exact changes we asked for and the meal did not disappoint in any way. When I went to collect the meal, Syed has ensured that the pick up is fully COVID-19 compliant and safe. We all really enjoyed our meal, every bit of it,and without any hesitation we would recommend the Indus Valley Express. If you can I would recommend for ease, speed and accuracy that you use the App. It’s so good

It's impossible to give extra reviews. The only way for me is to continually edit and add new curry reviews as a foreward!
June. .. we fancied another curry. Sayed asked me to try a new curry but would tell me what it was when we went to pick it up! My son had his Lamb Balti and Pilau Rice. Blast! When we got home, I had realised that I had forgotten to order rice. Doh! Must remember to order rice next time.
My curry? Sayed and Tariq had prepared for me a Carrot and Lamb dish! Wow! Plenty of thinly sliced carrot which contributed to a nice, pale orange colour. The curry was so flavoursome but on the hot side, spice wise. I would suggest to try it on the medium strength unless you're a madras type of person! It really is worth trying and don't forget to order Pilau Rice with it!
It's the middle of May and we all fancied another curry. My son had the Rogan Josh. My wife had the Indus Mexicana (see below in the April review) whilst I had the superb Lamb Haryali. As expected, the curries were to Saheed's and his kitchen staff's high standard of cooking.
However, there is a new Curry being offered so we had to try it as well. It's based on a Fijian recipe. I would liken it to the classic 1950s dish Coronation Chicken but without sultanas and a little more heat from the spices (I would classify it as a mild to medium strength). It's also creamy in taste. A sprinkling of coriander creates a dish that if you like Kormas but want a bit more punch, this Carioli Chicken should definitely be tried!
Below are my other reviews....
It's the last day of April and we as a family fancied another curry night. I asked Saheed if he would recommend me something different (I was going to have the superb Lamb Haryali). Saheed said he would cook me his Indus Mexicana which isn't on the menu. I paired it with his always faultless Mushroom Pilau. My wife stuck with her usual Chicken Tikka with Garlic Mayo in Naan and it didn't disappoint!
Needless to say, this Indus Mexicana should be tried by everyone. I had the lamb version. My wife sampled and will order it next time, you can't get higher praise than that! I would guess the Indus Mexicana is a fusion of a Salsa and an English lamb Rogan Josh ie without cream! As far as the chilli heat is concerned, I would rate it as medium in comparison with Saheed's other curries.
My son tried the Lamb Balti instead of his usual Chicken Balti and devoured it! He noticed just how much the lamb alters the structure and obviously the taste of a Balti in a good way.
If you fancy something different, please ask Saheed for his Indus Mexicana. You will not be disappointed.
PS I'm not on commission for writing this!
Here's my original review.
I suppose you could say I'm a regular here having moved over from the capital of Curry....Stoke!
My taste palette has been brought up on lots of spices, flavour and medium/hot heat so moving here nearly 20 years ago was a wake up call on how Kormas and Cream in sauces rule!
If you want an authentic curry (or one that would be given 5 stars by regular curry eaters across the water in Scotland/England/Wales) the Indus Valley is for you. The Jaipuri ticks all my boxes and for something different try the Haryali which has mint as one of the main ingredients.
I know everybody has an opinion but to see 1 star reviews baffles me as I have been a regular at the Coleraine restaurant and now Ballymoney and have never experienced a bad meal.
Just before Christmas, three of us ordered over the phone for collection. Upon arriving back, we noticed one of the orders had been forgotten. A quick phone call and within 5 minutes, the order had arrived....and it was only Pilau Rice. That's what I call customer service.
It's a curry house to be proud of in Ballymoney and Mao next door is the equivalent for Chinese food which is great as my wife can't stand curry! It's a win win situation for me!

Used to live on the Curry Mile in Manchester and Indus' food is better than all the curries I had there. Exemplary, has always been fresh and incredibly tasty for us.

Normally I have the chicken madras but as I was using the Indus Valley app to place my order, I had to spend over £10.00. Therefore I opted for the Lamb Madras with Pilau rice. The sauce was great but it contained very little meat! It was a very saucy liquid rice dish really! If I was basing my review on this particular meal then I would be giving 2 stars! However, my review will be based on my regular order of chicken madras, which is excellent & actually contains meat. Ill return no doubt but I will stick to the chicken.

Got the pizza deal tonight. I was surprised at the base sauce. Hadn’t tasted anything like it before. Lots of flavours very nice. Found out the sauce is hand made. Dough was nice and had risen well and the pizza was cooked really well. Not underdone or overdone. Will be going here for my pizzas from now on. Highly recommend

We eat out of here at least once a week and absolutely love the food. The kebabs are well made and large portions. The pizzas they have started doing are great. I love the base sauce. Had the chicken feast tonight. Fresh pakora and tikka. Highly recommend

Went to this place few weeks ago. Food was simply ordinary. Had the chance to go again and was blown away by the difference. Food had become amazing. The owner, Mr Amin, is a thorough gentleman and very hospitable.
Have been there many times in the last 2 weeks as I am a foody and living here away from home.
Tarka Daal, Okra and chicken has been delicious and the thing I love most is the chapatis.
If you want to true authentic indian/Pakistani food, do not think twice. Go and rejoice! I know I will!
