We love a Vintage Inn and The Walton Fox does not disappoint. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and served without any delay. It’s a lovely building with a roaring fire and lots of ambiance. The desert menu is full of unusual and wonderful things. The honey pot is my favourite.

I have had two meals at the Walton fox now...I love the friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the pub! The staff are great and the service given is second to none! The food is delicious and cooked to perfection! I had the cheesy Garlic bread to start on both visits which was a good size and delicious! My only criticism is the portion size with the main courses.. On the first visit I had the Duo of Lamb.. The Lamb rump was cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth! However the shepherds pie which accompanied it was an Extremely small and downright stingy portion!
On the second visit, I had the sausage and onion gravy on a bed of mash... when this main course arrived at my table I immediately thought was it a child's portion? And the bed of mash was more a Cot of mash than a bed! Again the food was delicious! But the portion size was extremely stingy!
On both occasions the mains portion size left me extremely disappointed and feeling hungry and
short changed!
On both visits I had the apple, blackcurrant and cherry crumble with custard for dessert... Which I can honestly say as someone who loves my desserts is the most delicious and best dessert I have ever had! 😋
My criticism about the mains portion size could be easily fixed by peeling and using some extra potatoes in the mains..that I had chosen! Besides from the extremely small and stingy main course portion size!
Everything else was perfect! 🥰
And I have to credit the staff for their friendly, professional and extremely helpful service! 10/10 here! I will however return to Dine here again and see if I can find a more filling mains on my next visit!

We’ve been a few times and every time has been great. The roast and the pie are delicious. Great atmosphere. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Wife had the hunters chicken snitzel, I had the burger, no complaints with either. The burger was fully loaded and well worth the price.

Me and my family were served by Niamh, Natalie and Lucy and they were absolutely fabulous! They created a wonderful atmosphere and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Our food was cooked by Paul, Lauren, Owen and Josh and it was warm and fresh with beautiful presentation. Overall an amazingly pleasant atmosphere and brilliant food, kind staff and great service. Another 5 star meal served by a beautiful girl called Evie.
We love coming to have a Sunday Lunch at the Walton Fox and the food, service with a smile and cleanliness is outstanding.
Evie couldn't have done anything more for us. She was so lovely and we had everything we needed.
The chefs today were Serif and Paul who made an absolutely beautiful Sunday Roast.
I had Turkey and my husband had the trio of meats.
Honestly the quality of the food is excellent.

Really friendly welcome, just the drinks we wanted available (Argentinian red wine and a Guinness) seated to table quickly which was lovely and clean as were the toilets. Trio of meats ordered for both of us which was really good-my only complaint would be the waitress wasn’t around to top up our gravy and we both could have done with more!

What a find! We stopped here on our way up to the north as it was the only option serving food at the time. Our expectations were not high due to the motorway/travel lodge location but the moment we got in what a surprise!! The place is lovely and well decorated! Cozy atmosphere and lovely service and staff. Would totally recommend.

The food was excellent, I would highly recommend the halloumi fries! I also had a steak sandwich with fries which was very nice. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. If I’m in the area I would certainly visit again.
