We stopped for coffee after a long journey. Came across this place by chance. Ordered a hot chocolate, a latte, and a mocha. Prices were reasonable for what we ordered. Great range if cakes as well. Service was really friendly, and drinks were superb. Will visit again if in the area.
Yugen stands proud, being the only artisan coffee shop in Bangor. The owner has stuck to what he knows best, making excellent coffee. Yugen Coffee House is the only cafe in Bangor that offers New Zealand roasted All Press, multi origin coffee. The owner informed me it’s a more consistent blend than the locally roasted alternatives.
Yugen doesn’t craft awesome coffee. There are a selection of contemporary brunch dishes available. All made with bread sourced from a local baker.
The owner was down to earth, chatty and happy to talk about coffee, Bangor life and the weather. Top bloke.
Lovely little café, you could easily walk past it and never notice, but you'll be pleased if you do. I've had a few coffees from there and been happy, but this morning I tried the porridge, and it was lovely. Strawberry's, blueberries, jam, coconut,banana, on top of hot porridge oats. A very hearty meal, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice healthy start to the day.
Only visiting the area and came across Yugen Coffee House, the only artisan coffee shop in Bangor. The flat white was great, the atmosphere was chilled and the service was second to none. Located just outside the main shopping centre, but worth the time to venture in.
Decent coffee (flat white is somehow the smalled coffee size they have, not quite sure how that works) and nice cakes too. Got a flat white and asked for less milk in it to achieve a roughly cortado sized drink.
Just tried the new coffee house and i would say it is brilliant. The latte was made just right that i did not add any sugar as it tasted good atleast for my tastebud. Carrot cake was moist and was told it is locally sourced daily which is good. Will pay a visit again next time around. Price wise is ok for a coffee shop in my opinion
THE best coffee house in all of Wales without a doubt. Perhaps in the country. The coffees are immaculate and so is the food. Highly recommend.
I’ve been visiting Yugen Coffee House since 2018, the coffee has been consistently amazing over the years, the atmosphere is amazing and most importantly it feels like visiting family every time you come in.

Great cappuccino, friendly service and atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. Wifi (at least from M&S, maybe the coffee shop too) is available. Lovely place to work for a few hours.
Yugen's is almost certainly the best coffee place in Bangor and the surrounding area. I regularly find myself making excuses to be in Bangor just so that I can pop buy and get a coffee from there. No other coffee place I have been to have had that ability to lure me back. If that's not a good sign that the coffee is top tier I don't know what is.
I have also had lunch there several times and the toasties, paninis, and cakes are great as well.
The service is also fantastic and you always feel extremely welcomed.
Overall I would say it's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
