Pho Hoa Grill

I absolutely love this VERY little slice of Vietnam in Maine. You walk in the door and instantly get hit with the aroma of being in a Asian home. Now this place is EXTREMELY small inside...like 2 tables. It seems like you're eating in the kitchen with them. Mom and dad are in the back cooking . if you look to the right you see the sink where they clean the dishes..I felt like I was home and mom was cooking was dinner and were were just waiting to eat dinner. The food has the most flavor just like my moms. After we were done eating , I walked in the dish washing area and thanked the mother for the amazing good. It's worth the drive from Thomaston to eat here. I wish they would of opened the garage door " the front of the restaurant " to get fresh air. Because it was a little humid inside...but since the food was so good I didn't mind the heat. For a little hole in the wall place that in a neighborhood...it's a perfect place to be for some feel good Asian food that brings you back when we were little kids. I MISS MY MOMS COOKING!!!

This place deserves more attention. I don't write reviews often but the food here was THAT good I had to leave one. I recently moved to Bangor and was craving Vietnamese. I saw the reviews here and figured this place would do the trick but this little family restaurant blew me out of the water. Don't let first impressions fool you. The food is fresh and absolutely incredible. I left with a food high and will definitely be visiting this place more often. And if it matters... I'm Vietnamese

Very small little "hole in the wall" place tucked away in Bangor. It was very hard to understand the staff with their masks on and also the person who took my order didn't exactly make me feel welcome. I could sense stress and anger. Thankfully the food made up for the staff. This was the third restaurant in Bangor that I've tried Pad Thai at and so far this was the best of them! You could feel the authenticity in the cooking.

The food is very good however today I had ordered a tofu shrimp vermicelli noodle salad only to have it filled with pork and tofu. Upon asking for a refund because it was my lunch break (didn't have time to wait) the woman insisted on remaking it. It only took a few minutes. I went back to work and opened my noodle salad only to find tiny pieces of pork all around. (Maybe they keep proteins together when preparing the food ??). I called again and shared my concerns to the woman and she insisted in making something else. I decided to get a refund since I didn’t want to drive back and forth during work hours.
