What a lovely place and setting along with exquisite food and the friendliest staff you could ask for. Emma, Holly, Ben and Robin provided a personal and attentive service for the whole stay. We arrived to eat lunch yesterday before going walking, had dinner in the restaurant afterwards and have just finished our breakfast now! Beautiful food - compliments to the chef! The rooms are cosy and clean and because the bar isn’t open too late the noise died down at a reasonable hour. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
We have just come home from a one night stay at the Barley Mow .
We will definitley be back again .The staff are very friendly always had smiles and chatty and cant do enough for you, I had no hairdryer in my room but within 10mins they had put one in !!
The food was excellent .We had the meat platter sharer and that was good value for money and really lovely , all the food we had there was lovely and breakfast was more than enough !!
The rooms were clean and tidy and our bed was very comfortable
Thankyou we will definitley be revisiting the Barley Mow
Came here without a booking after walking pendle hill in the rain. They were not quite serving lunch yet but we were made to feel very welcome and had a brew by the gorgeous fire to warm up. When food was being served we had the fish and chips which was really tasty but the star of the show was the curry sauce, absolutely delicious! A great pub to finish off in after a lovely walk.
We dined at the Barley Mow and were very happy with the welcome and service throughout the meal. The restaurant has a nice ambience, plenty of choice, well cooked and presented and reasonable prices. Great gluten free options available too.
Will certainly return.
We went for a walk out of Barley towards the sculpture trail and then back to eat here. Luckily the pub is dog friendly.
I struggled with the menu as I have an onion allergy but the waitress on the night couldn't have been more helpful. She listened , was empathic and even asked the chef what I could and couldn't have. I had the gammon which was delicious. Millionaire shortbread for dessert finished the meal off. The decor in the pub is beautiful and reminded us of a log cabin . We will be back . Highly recommended.
Just had an amazing meal celebrating my wife’s Birthday with my family. Food was top notch, great service. Beautiful location and great atmosphere. Not the cheapest but the quality is second to none.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Unbelievably good food, easily the best steak and ale pie I've ever had, and excellent soup of the day!
Service was friendly and aesthetics were fantastic
We had a much needed family lunch here, after a trek up Pendle Hill. Really enjoyable experience with good food, beer and atmosphere.
3rd time coming to this place. Great food and ideal location for walking. Dog friendly Rooms could do with being a bit bigger. On a sunny evening sat outside overlooking Pendle Hill. Perfect.

Great village pub with very helpful staff. Handpulled cask beers were Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker and Moorhouse's White Witch. Menu didn't proffer much choice at all for vegetarians and vegans, even the three salad choices were all animals. There were however some options if you only wanted a light snack or nibble. Gluten free catered for. Serve hot drinks too. Tidy, clean bar area and plenty of outdoor seating available.
Absolutely fantastic pub located in idyllic beautiful surroundings. Made to feel very welcome by all the staff in a very atmospheric pub.
Food was top notch for gastro-pub type food and the drinks were spot on too, well worth a visit if in the area - would love to go for a full meal sometime!
Didn't have a room but dined there. Food was magnificent a proper hearty meal and the service was first rate. A really friendly atmosphere made for a first rate dining experience.
