Came to the Crown from neighbouring Middleton-in-Tees after having read in our welcome pack at the holiday cottage that they do a good roast, they were not wrong! I had the chicken and my partner had the multi meat option. All meats cooked perfectly! The flavours were lovely, and there was just enough of everything, we went away full. Definitely be interested to see what their Friday and Saturday menus are like.
Dog friendly too which was an added bonus.

I had the buffalo cauliflower and it was lush! Mrs. Had the burger and was not disappointed. Menu a little limited but what they do do the do right! Really nice place xxx

Lovely pub brilliant Sunday lunch and a very light tasty sticky toffee pudding! Very friendly owners and a lovely warm fire on in the dining room will be back many more times!

Lovely, busy pub with a great atmosphere. Fair prices and ridiculously good food. Service was friendly and prompt. Dogs and children made very welcome and well catered for...great to see child sized portions of good fresh food rather than deep fried battered stuff with beans! Attractive decor and beautiful pub garden. Really lovely lunch and would be back in a heartbeat.

Quite expensive sunday dinner. Friendly staff. They have allocated dog areas & dog free areas.
Ordered the Aberdeen Angus stew with Guinness, very nice but very very rich couldn't finish all my meal. 2 other people had Sunday lunches. Very nice and would definitely visit again.

We came from South Shields for a day out to high force and thought weâd grab some food on the way home. Looked for somewhere local on Google to stop by and thought weâd give this place a go as it looked promising. Not disappointed, Beautiful food and very welcoming. Some of the best pub food weâve had in a long time. Will definitely recommend this to anyone passing through and we will 100% be coming back next time. Thanks again đ

Lovely food & great service, we had their street food on Saturday night which was very good! We had burgers and the crispy beef loaded fries, they were great

We have visited this eatery a couple of times and both times it has been beyond superb! The food is freshly cooked to order, nothing appears to be out of the freezer, it is clean and the service is always brilliant no matter how busy they are! It truly is a 3 course taste sensation here also, the Sunday lunch is the best in County Durham.

What a find!
The micro barn is a small but perfectly formed bed, sitting room with everything you need, in particular a very comfortable bed!
The Crown serves excellent street style food at very great value.
I cannot recommend it enough!
