I was here for a wake, so the importance of the experience was heightened. While the food was good - especially as a wide variety of dietary requirements were efficiently accommodated - the service was not. Somw examples include being unclear as to how much food we were entitled to as part of the afternoon tea, what drinks were and weren't part of the set price (charged for a latte but not for a cappuccino) and were waiting close to 1 hour for something that had been pre-ordered for a set time. Given the difficulty of the day - something that we'd also made staff aware of ahead of time - we weren't well equipped (energetically/emotionally/mentally) to challenge or chase anything. We wanted a thoroughly smooth and relaxed experience, but this wasn't the case.

Had a surprise birthday afternoon tea. Was absolutely fantastic. Lovely decor . Staff attentive, polite and professional , but warm and friendly. Catered for allergies and dietary preferences. Offered a second round of sandwiches and another pot of tea. Cakes and scones were scrumptious and they were happy to give us a box to take the uneaten cakes home. Beautiful building in a picturesque setting.

A beautiful place and locations with wonderful happy staff. Went for afternoon tea and had plenty of it. Our lovely kind waitress was perfect and had excellent customer service skills . We all had a lovely time here and will definitely be coming back. I can’t recommend this place enough. It was not like other stuffy places and we had a wonderful relaxing time and not being rushed at all.

Vgood Sunday lunch. My Aunt is a stickler for details. So she was impressed by the proper napkins, silverware, attentive serving staff, just the right level of upmarket feel without upmarket prices. (£30 for two courses Sunday) When we asked for tap water no ice they served exactly that, (some do not), also when my Aunt asked for Mint tea they asked if she would like freshly cut Mint. I had a happy Aunt (she is not easily impressed), so I will be back. Food is excellent, not huge portions but good value in my opinion.
