This place is truly enchanting, with an incredible atmosphere filled with vibrant colors and beautiful paintings that make you feel like you're in a cozy home, complete with lovely sofas and cushions. The food is equally exceptional. My friend and I ordered three small plates, each served on charming dishes, and every bite was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return soon!

The food is great. The drinks are terrific! The staff is mostly lovely (Tina took care of us and she was fantastic!). We had a party of 20 in the bottle room. The only change I would recommend is this: When some guests arrived, they tried to buy their own coffee and beer (2 different people). They were refused service and told they can ONLY get those drinks through our tab. They tried to insist that they were happy to pay right away, seperately, but they were sent to us to order their coffee and beer. This is silly. They did not need to bother us while we were still busy setting up - they told the bar staff that they were ready to pay for it directly by card and still they were refused. This confused us all. Other than that, it was great. Thank you.

Visited on a Sunday, I had the roast beef which was good, the meat was tasty, nice and tender, good Yorkshire pudding and great gravy. The wait staff were a bit hit and miss, some very good, some rather average. Nice decor and pleasant atmosphere but when full it's quite noisy. Only downside for us, as it is dog friendly, in the restaurant there were 2 barking dogs at the next table.

Excellent service, food and ambience. Reasonable value and ample car parking (plus a good bus route). Couldn’t fault - maybe coffee a bit tepid, but hey plenty wouldn’t mind that!

Great restaurant worth visiting. Situated on a fairly busy road in Totteridge, the turn off can be easy to miss in the dark. Be careful of cars exiting whilst you turn in as the entrance is a little on the narrow side. The staff are polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt welcomed and cared for. The decor was very good and the place is well maintained. The place packed the usual loud crowd which suited me down to the ground. Having to spot to people across from you to be heard whilst eating is not my cup of tea. The menu was varied enough to cater for all tastes. We had the roast chicken and fish and chips. Both were very well portioned and the food was of excellent quality. I would give this meal a ££ out of £££££ which makes this a very good value for money meal out. Will definitely go back and may even become a regular place to visit. Thank you to the staff for looking after us. šŸ»

Had a really lovely evening with a friend. The young lady who greeted us and sat us at the lovely table in the corner was charming and professional. All the staff were polite but especially a particularly attentive young man Gary. He gave outstanding service. The food was excellent. I have been coming here for over 20 years and will continue to do so.

Great atmosphere with fabulous Italian dishes. Refurbished building by a lovely pond offers a fantastic view. Absolutely planning to visit at least one more time. Car park is big enough for the customers visiting there.

Great food, really nice place. It was a great plan for a weekend lunch. Only thing I'd say is wine list was probably not as good as I was expecting considering how good the food was. We found one or two good options but that was it. Other than that I loved it. We spent £90 with two glasses of wines, two mains and a shared dessert.

The restaurant is situated in a very nice and calm area, sitting outside possible which makes it perfect on a sunny day. The food was very good, especially the desserts. However, my steak was rare and very hard to eat even though I ordered medium. Second steak, also should be medium, but was not, but still better than mine. Others enjoyed their food, specially the kids so that was most important.

The place is pretty and the main meal was good. I had a dirty Burger and my husband had a steak. I was not pleased with the dessert, it wasn't to my liking. I'd like to try the Sunday roast next time because it seemed to be very popular. The service was generally good and the toilets were clean.

Was taken here by my boyfriend's mother as a treat, she loves this restaurant and comes regularly. The atmosphere was beautiful, a really pretty restaurant. The staff didn't smile and weren't friendly, but I didn't know if that was the vibe they were going for in there. Parking was a nightmare we went round and round looking for a space, apart from that this was a nice evening. Really enjoyed the starters.

The Orange Tree is a classic staple in the area for those in the Totteridge area and for a nice wander down from Barnet way. The young ladies behind the bar were very friendly and polite which can be quite a novelty these days! A pint of Guinness and Pride were reasonably priced as well which was nice given it’s been a while since I last visited. The pub has a lovely outdoor area for a summer’s day too. Can’t comment on the food, but for drinks it’s great.

Been coming here since my teens. Had my 60th here last night with my family. Absolutely superb. Warm welcome, great atmosphere, phenomenal service, our server in particular and the kitchen went the extra mile for us but particularly for my young granddaughters requirements. The menu is varied and excellent and the food is superb and well presented. Overall a truly great evening. Highly recommended

Like walking into a country pub...but a little more upmarket! Super food, delightful service (really friendly and genuinely caring), and chilled, relaxed, out-of-London atmosphere. Secluded 'cabins' available at the ends of the pub for small groups who want more privacy. A gastropub worth visiting!

We made the reservation online pretty easily for an early dinner. The service was very good and the staff were friendly; the restaurant side was away from the bar which was appreciated. Our order arrived in good time and was very pleased with every dish. Will happily return and try other items on their menu.

Date: 16.07.18
Time: 19:30

A quick business meeting but made time to try out their Sticky Toffee Pudding. I would say it is average and little too sweet. Not the best by a long way off.Ā

The pub however is nice with nice friendly staff and very pleasant surroundings.Ā

Traditional and modern at the same time with a nice large outdoor area so worth a visit during nice summer days.Ā

Nice bar and resturant area also and a good family pub to enjoy a great atmosphere and no background music or TV’s so not a sporting location just a nice place to go for some food or drinkĀ

I will go again and try their menu which looks good and write another review in time.

The place is gorgeous with a beautiful decor. It's a country gastro pub with a modern restaurant. The selection of the food is rather poor and personally I think it's overpriced. For an average size rib-eye steak which is £20.95 there's an additional charge for the black pepper sauce of £1.50. I've ordered lamb which was delicious, a bit fatty but the roasted peppers with goat cheese made the dish very tasty.
I would probably go back there only because the atmosphere was very cosy and I think the place has a lot of potential.

The Orange Tree is a beautiful pub located in Barnet. From the moment you pull into the car park the building oozes class and elegance. The interior is more of the same with beautiful oak flooring and wooden beams hanging overhead. Somewhat surprisingly, the ambiance wasn’t what I would expected from this level of establishment and was a little on the quiet side. The service was second to none with attentive bar staff and waiters hovering attentively to take your order. I went for the roast dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how succulent the chicken was. The only minor issue with the meal was the potatoes which I found to be slightly overcooked, but as a whole my dinner was lovely. I found drinks prices to be rather expensive but perhaps this was to be expected due to the prestigious nature of the pub.

Overall, I really enjoyed my evening at the Orange Tree and it is definitely a place I would revisit. The wonderful dƩcor and delicious food make for a fantastic evening.

I loved the space, it looked gorgeous and fresh but unfortunately, in my opinion it lacked in regards to their food which i found quite expensive though it did not reflect the quality of the food.

The great thing about it is that it is able to cater for large groups of people without making you feel cramped.

The space is clean and looks very upmarket, very keen on the eye.

The ambience was nice and relaxing and the staff were nice and polite but i found them slightly pretentious.

A lovely pub in a semi-rural setting. We went for theĀ Sunday roast. There was a friendly family atmosphere. Despite being busy the service was very brisk.Ā

The beef roast was well cooked, a good piece of meat, roasted in mustard. The spuds were okay, I've never been to a pub that can replicate the home cooked variety and here was no exception. The nut roast was made with stilton and cranberry which is a good variation as this ofsets the oil of the nuts.Ā

We found the portions a little on the small side, another potato or two would have made the dinner go further.

More restaurant than pub these days. Nice menu and cocktails, outside seating by the pond for sunny days. Very busy at weekends with good atmosphere, food is fine with nice spacious tables. Reasonable prices for Totteridge area, good meeting place with plenty of parking.

There are some places that just serve as magnets for your attention. The Orange Tree in Totteridge does that to me.
I mean what kind of Florida girl living in London doesn’t fancy a trip to a gastropub called The Orange Tree?

The decor and ambiance is comfortable and cheery. I especially wanted to eat at The Orange Tree because I love the Arkley and The Freemasons Arms. They’re all owned by the same company. The menu at all three is virtually the same.

Mr. Sunny and I popped in The Orange Tree a few weeks ago mid-day on a Tuesday. The weather was gorgeous. We sipped on Prosecco and beer.

The gastropub is located a distance from the road. This makes it extra enjoyable and fun when there’s sunshine.

This past Saturday, the ambiance was very different. It’s a good thing we arrived in a cab with my Sunny-in-laws. The car park was mobbed. That beautiful spacious road in the picture above was lined with cars on both sides. Good thing I took all my interior pictures the first time I visited!

My Sunny-mummy-in-law and I are big bubbly fans, so we shared a bottle of Prosecco. The boys bought beer. It was San Miguel again for Mr. Sunny. His dad had a Doombar.

We were proud of ourselves for booking a table. Actually, all the credit goes to my clever mummy-in-law. Despite the crowds, they sat us as soon as we were ready.

Mr. Sunny ordered Smoked Cornish Sardine Fillets.

I went for my go-to-non-carb-delight, Caprese Salad.

Mr. Sunny’s mum had the Salt and Pepper Squid.

His dad loved the Ham Hock Terrine. You see, he had been excited about ordering it all week. He enjoyed it so much, he skipped a Main course.

Not me, Sunny friends. I went big. For realz…the Home-Made West Country Beef Burger. I’m pretty sure I told them to even pack on extra cheese. It was a damn good cheeseburger.

Mr. Sunny picked the Rack of Lamb from the Specials menu. He says it was bloody lovely!

And, my mummy-in-law chose the Sticky Crispy Duck Salad.

We had a fabulous afternoon and will definitely be back to enjoy more of their delicious cuisine. Although next time, I’ll probably walk there and home so I can be able to squeeze in to my jeans. Because passing up that fantastic cheeseburger would be a sure way to rain on my parade.

The Orange Tree is located at Totteridge Village, London N20 8NX. You can follow them on Twitter to keep informed of their fantastic promotions. I do!

What happened??. I have visited the orange tree for lunch a few times and up to Friday my experiences have always been positive - a pleasant setting, nice food and friendly staff. Sadly Friday marred my earlier experiences with a surly, rude waiter who walked off mid sentence, slopped drinks and was obviously having a bad day. Both my companions and I were dumbfounded. The pinnacle came when a lukewarm black coffee arrived in a cup and rim covered in grounds. It was stewed and bitter. When mentioned no replacement was offered. My polite friend approached him privately and explained that we had not been impressed and that no tip would be left,
K
