The best gluten free roast dinner I have ever had! Coeliac safe food. I have eaten the gluten free fish and chips, which were delicious, on a previous visit.
Gluten free roast dinner included meat (I chose turkey), roast potatoes, mash, veg, cauliflower cheese, gravy and even Yorkshire pudding!! It was delicious and so nice to have such a variety!

Overall the old post office is in my list of favourite places to eat now. The food here was incredible, which is made better with the prices as it's exceptional value for money.
I visited for a Sunday roast with a relative.
The starter, main and dessert was all full of flavour and tasted so fresh. As a bonus it was presented very well too!
The atmosphere is nice and cosy, I expected it to be bigger inside when seeing the outside but no gripes with that as you get a better experience being booked in and looked after.
The only negatives I have to mention is that the staff are quite forgetful. I ordered a drink and it never came, I also asked for the bill and the same member of staff walked past 20 mins after without it so they do tend to forget.
The trio of meats we ordered was very nice but it'd be nice to be asked how to get the beef done on that, like you're asked if you order the beef alone as it wasn't to my relatives liking.
These are only minor hiccups to a great experience and I will be back soon to visit either way!

Cosy welcoming pub, friendly staff, great atmosphere, the minute we sat down we felt very relaxed, enjoyed the night out from start to finish. Great quality, food was cooked to perfection - had the fillet steak 6oz was plenty with all the sides that came with it. Definitely will be revisiting again soon, highly recommend.

I have visited the Old Post Office a few times now and find the food to always be very yummy. There is a nice choice on the menu and they cater for such as myself who hasn't got a big appetite. Beautiful surroundings and professional service always. Looking forward to the next visit.

We were booked in as a belated mother's day treat for Bottomless Brunch at the Old Post Office. This included a meal and unlimited drinks with a varied choice. We had 1x full English breakfast and 1x eggs benedict. The food was lovely and there is not one negative I could say on that front. The pub was quite busy with a hen party too however the staff were still very attentive. There was one member of staff who didn't really smile and made us feel a bit awkward when ordering drinks. We were also told at half 1 that the drinks we had just ordered were our last and anymore we ordered after that would be put on a tab. If they want last orders at half 1 they need to be changing the finish time to half 1 because at the end of the day it says unlimited til 2 not oh when we think you've had your moneys worth. At the end we also had a comment from a lady thinking we were trying to take a glass when i went out to see if our ride was here. I mean, were not not hard up enough to need to steal a glass! All in all pleasant experience just the little niggle 'customer service ' bits that put me off.

First time experiencing the old post office tonight. The food was beautiful it looked appetising on the plate also, which is always a plus. I would definitely recommend anyone try if you haven't already. We will definitely be coming back in the near future.

First visit here (late Friday afternoon) and we ate from the lunchtime menu which was great value at £15 for 2 courses. The food was fab as was the wine selection; good Malbec by the glass 🍷. The service was exceptional, will be visiting again!

Really poor experience Saturday evening, has the staff let in a party of extra people to sit and eat , when are table was booked for 8.30 and did not get to are table till 9.15 , and the extra people did not book that what was enough,

Went for Mother’s Day meal but wasn’t informed it was a sitting arrangement. We couldn’t enter restaurant and was held in a ‘holding bay’ in the bar. My mum who is in her eighties had to negotiate the steep external stairs to the bar, we were then taken up an internal staircase and seated. The food was ok. We then attempted to exit the venue the same way we had entered but the exit was now closed which we discovered only after going down the stairs again only to have to return up them. Felt disappointed as it felt like being in a canteen and communication was lacking. Felt no consideration was given to my mums ability to negotiate stairs etc.

Table of 4, 2 had lamb chops & veg, 2 had cut your own fillet steak with pick your own side & sauce.
All cooked exactly how asked, really good portions (4 lamb chops!!!), tasted amazing!
Huge selection of puddings. Good portion sizes again. Reasonable prices, lovely staff!

On Sunday the 24th of September we held a secret Birthday party for a 70yr old Lady. This review is to thank the whole team who work there. They were in on our secret and played along to make sure the secret was kept right up to the last minute when she walked in the room. The location of the room, the food, the service and especially the staff were 100% and more. Had fantastic meal on Sunday, restaurant was really busy as to be expected on a Sunday but staff were attentive and kept us up to date with how long for our table etc. Food was delicious, rare for me to eat a full 3 courses but I made an exception! Lovely atmosphere too and very cosy.

Used to be better. We arrived on a Sunday with dogs in tow. Wedding event blocked all access from garden had to walk right around to get to bar and toilets. Anyway we are in a queue of 4 at the bar to order when a very stroppy serving staff tells us to please move around and out of the restaurant area. We were not near any occupied tables this felt rude like we were 2nd class. In the past we have had some awesome sandwiches served to garden, now told we can only order side dishes to garden. I don't buy that a sandwich is more bother than fried foods! Dogs not allowed in restaurant so we felt very unwelcome. Unlikely to bother visiting again.

The food was good, but attitude of chef to having an over-cooked steak sent back to kitchen was unbelievable. He actually came out of the kitchen, up to the table and argued with us! These things happen. The steak WAS over-cooked and for the money being paid for the meal that’s not fair. Instead of providing a replacement quietly they made an incredibly awkward and embarrassing scene at my Dad’s 60th birthday meal in front of the whole restaurant � It ruined what should have been a special occasion. The extra helping of attitude as we were leaving was just the cherry on the top. I’m trying The Fat Badger in Harrogate next time and won’t be going back.
