Home made bread with egg mayonnaise. Service with a smile. Well worth a visit for a bite to eat. Lots of home made cakes to choose from

This is a hidden gem of a cafe, a little off the beaten track but definitely worth hunting down. The food is excellent, freshly cooked & delicious (you have to try the homemade sourdough bread) and the owners are friendly, helpful and more than willing to adapt menu choices to cater for dietary requirements. This is now my go-to cafe when visiting Barnstaple and I’ve yet to be disappointed

Popped in for lunch completely on the off-chance and had the most scrumptious food. No trouble to seat six of us and the service was charming and friendly. Everything homemade including divine sourdough granary! What a find! If you are ever in Barnstaple give it a try. It's round the corner from the Pannier Market so easy to find.

Second visit to this gem of a cafe. Hidden a bit of a lane by the pannier market. Lovely atmosphere with great service and friendly staff. Coffee was great and tea in a China cup. Wide selection of food available and the best tea cakes my mum and dad has ever had. Will return......

Oh my god! What a lovely little hidden gem ! Tea served in a proper china pot with china cups and saucers, and the food ❤️
Possibly the best sandwich on the freshest hand made hand cut bread. The chocolate bread pudding is a thing of delicious beauty. Fabulous little tea shop. We will be back .

What a great find!
Really good food and a lovely atmosphere, great to find a good cafe and we’ll worth going here.
We had a sour dough toastie and sandwich and the quality was great and the price really reasonable
We’ve definitely found a place we will be going back to for lunch when we’re in town

Lovely cafe on Church Lane Barnstaple, stopped on our way back to Dolton after a tour of the North Devon coast line ., had scones and tea, what a delight, one of the nicest cafés we have been to on our holiday in North Devon . We highly recommend this little gem if in this area, and the service was exemplary by the lady owner, I think is Lucy, what a charming lady.
Many thanks

Our favourite Barnstaple cafe. Amazing home-made sour dough bread and always a lovely variety of cakes and bakes

Terrific stop for tea and cake. We had the most delicious lemon and polenta cake with fruit compote and rhubarb and raspberry crumble cake with clotted cream -both incredibly delicious. A husband and wife team -all cakes home baked and a really welcoming feel.

Would have been better but we were slightly rushed as closed early on our visit however I would definitely recommend it and if we are back that way would definitely go back as the tea came with a tea strainer lovely big t pot and China cups and saucer

Very nice little cafe tucked away off the main shopping street in Barnstaple town centre. Limited menu but we had the excellent soup of the day and homemade bread. A good selection of homemade cakes and very good coffee, topped off with good service and altogether value for money.

Not been here for a year or 2 for the same reason most people haven't - nice surprise to see a new designed seating area and as usual great coffee full of flavour and a good array of homemade cakes on sale - nothing like a cheeky aunt Sally and Worzel tea and cake stop (yeah it's a coffee)

I really love this little place. Beautifully fresh scones and homemade preserves. Real leaf tea served in old tea pots and china cups - this is what a tea shop should be
