I absolutely love this place. Food is always excellent! Staff are welcoming and friendly! Great gluten free options! Meat platter to share and champagne! Heaven! I love seafood and fish and the blacksmith arms nevers fails to disappoint! However the cheese soufflé was the star of the show! Please bring it back!
Amazing evening at The Blacksmiths Arms (as usual). The food was spectacular, the fish batter was incredibly crisp, not greasy at all!
The service was impeccable and the prices are incredibly reasonable. We took my mother here for her birthday and she had a great evening. Highly recommend this place.
Delicious food, really enjoyable and clearly high quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and for the quality I would say prices are reasonable.
We had the scallop starter to share (I really like the pea puree!) and we both had lamb rump with lamb shoulder for the main which was stunning. The flavours were beautifully balanced and there was a perfect mix of textures. I really appreciated the slightly crunchy, buttery brocolli - yum!
Unfortunately for us, the atmosphere was a bit lacking - it was too dark in the dining room and it lacked any character or charm. That being said, the outside area is very sweet and I'm sure is a lovely place to relax in the darker evenings.
We also found the service to be lacking in warmth. It was friendly and polite but lacked a certain something. We were in and out within an hour and, for a celebration evening, we were just not 'wowed' as much as expected. Not disappointed but not overwhelmed.
The best meal we’ve had in a long time! Beautiful atmosphere, service with a friendly smile and the food was exquisite! Would recommend to anybody looking for a delicious meal and cocktail out! Will be coming back!
We had a warm welcome. The Food was excellent, as was the service. The people serving were attentive and polite, all too rare attributes now in many places. I would most definitely come here again.
I love it here, come quite often because the dishes are always to my liking. Great place to go with friends and family. Service is always great and the outdoor tables are comfortable, classy and inviting.
We throughly enjoyed a meal recently at The Blacksmith Arms. The service and ambience were top notch, and the food was nothing short of fantastic - the entire table of 5 enjoyed every element of the meal. For me, the highlight was the Lamb Shank which just fell off the bone - it was sublime.
I certainly would return in the future for a meal when visiting Barrow Upon Soar.

Excellent food and cosy feeling. Staff were excellent. Has to be one of the best Sunday Lunches we've had. Definitely the best in the Loughborough area.
Friendly staff, good quality food with interesting and imaginative flavours, nice environment, group of 18 in upstairs function room. Main course took a little long to arrive but served all 18 at once so excusable.
